News More Eaglemoss Discovery Starships

Got the Vulcan Cruiser this morning and the plaque...

I didn't realize that the plaques were metal and quite hefty.
(I thought they were resin or plastic)

The next issue is the USS BURAN...

WELL. they apparently have changed the name of Starship Issue #7...
As you can see in my previous post it was supposed to be the USS BURAN...,
but now they are calling it the USS YEAGER.

What's even weirder is that it is listed on this page ...
https://shop.eaglemoss.com/usa/star-trek-discovery-starships ... as the USS BURAN / NCC-1422
(scroll down, last ship on the right)

but it is listed here...
https://en-us.eaglemoss.com/hero-collector/star-trek/star-trek-discovery ... as the USS YEAGER
/ NCC-1437.
(scroll down to the "Introducing the Collection" title and then click once to the right on the ship pics)

I wonder why they changed it from Lorca's ship?
Go figure... :wtf:

We know there have been some changes behind the scenes, makes sense that these changes may have triggered other changes with the ships and the direction of the show in the upcoming season.

Actually, they changed it from the Yeager to the Buran, not the other way around. The model will be labeled the Buran as shown in your link to the shop. They've had it on display at some of the recent conventions.

Welll...
According to their Rep when I called this morning, 11/01/18
(because I hadn't received anything for October )
It is back ordered and is still listed as the "Yeager" in her computer and that's what she's telling everybody who inquires.

I guess the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing in this case.
I'll just have to wait and see what shows up in a few weeks.
(it's supposed to ship to me on November 17th)

Curious why this one keeps flip-flopping around. Guess they've finally settled on a name, although I think I would have preferred Buran. Oh wellz...

I think you've hit upon it, the two different sides (customer service & production) not talking to each other.

The model they've been showing is clearly marked the Buran. I don't think there'd be time to change the production since it's coming out within a month.

Here's a link to an article with pictures, about half way down.

Here's hoping it's the Buran. I rewatched the episode where we get to see the Buran and she looked rather nice on screen.

Isn't Yeager the name of one of the ship classes too?

We never saw the USS buran, only the ISS Buran, yet the model is labelled as a prime-universe ship.
The USS Buran was mentioned as Prime Lorca's last command.

And we've yet to see ships that differ class between universes, so the USS Buran was probably the same class.

Looks like it is going to be the USS BURAN after all...

...So, what's the Vulcan ship called in the end? Corvette in the packaging, Cruiser in dialogue, something else again somewhere else in the shipped material?

Eaglemoss is calling it a cruiser.
They changed it from corvette months ago before it shipped.

The ship size chart does give it a class name, Solkar, but it still says cruiser.

This is the booklet cover from the EM model I got...

... of course the size on the cover is apparently wrong if we go by what was seen in the episode, but I'm thinking at some point They wanted this to represent a larger ship, rather than what we saw.

Either that or it is a typographical error on the cover (and inside) and is supposed to be 14.2 meters which would be about 46.5 feet.
(which seems much closer to what was depicted in the episode)
