News More Eaglemoss Discovery Starships

I get that they wanted to update the design, but they could've come up with something that's in the ilk the established Klingon aesthetic.

I would have been fine with that, you can see its a visually updated D7 and it looks Klingon.

Add a similarly squared off and slightly more angular BoP in the pilot battle and we are in business.

What we got is so generic.

How the heck are these designs generic?!
I’ve never seen anything like them before.

Sure they don’t look Klingon, but they’re not generic.
They just look alien ship of the week generic, the kind we got each week on Voyager.

I can see CBS making money selling the Discovery and Enterprise models in particular, can't see them making any money selling models of the Klingon ships.

They mean it has that same old Goa'Uld / Scarrans / Wraith / Reapers / Cylons / Magog / Centauri -alien aesthetic: metallic organical, curved, and with lots and lots of intricate spikes all over it.

Agreed. I’m not a fan of the new Klingon ships and I also don’t think they look particularly Klingon when compared to other Klingon ship designs, but they’re not generic to me either.

I think the new Klingon ships fall into this kind of category.

Could we describe them as “generically “alien” looking”?

As in they suggest an “alien” design before they suggest a “Klingon” design?

Edit: as @Mach5 points out (missed it when I was trying to quote!)

“Maybe not Star Trek - generic, but certainly sci-fi generic. As in - completely lacking character”

I’d argue they lack much “Klingon” character relative to what we’ve seen before.

Yiiish. that's one fugly Klingon ship. I bet only dishonored houses get to fly these. But did you notice I said Klingon ship? It definitely looks and feels klingon.

Well it did say on your invoice 'IOU', shouldn't have been a surprise
Yeah, I've received notice of the Poster "back order" on the last THREE packing slips I've received.

This is just the first one to come with a colorful 'mini-poster' I can frame.

Kind of reminds me of the Destiny (with a head and nacelles) from SGU.
