Money spent on Star Trek when you shouldnt have

'Nuff said.

I'd consider that a crime if I didn't know you'd actually use these and do a helluva job, as I've seen here in the forums.

Spent god only knows how much on the first five seasons of TNG when they were re-released on VHS a few years ago. It only became a shouldn't have when they stopped releasing them during season 5. Kind of afraid to buy them on DVD in case the same thing happens again!

two words: Franklin Mint.

Although I love my pewter TOS Enterprise, their stuff went downhill el rapido.

I did pewter stuff from Franklin Mint too.

It wasn't that expensive but I wasted money anyway on a tribble. That's right. A tribble that cost me 15 bux at the Star Trek experience. I went there when my Star Trek fever started burning up and looking at their merchandise was enough to blow my lid.

It was just a stuff furry ball. When I got back from Las Vegas, I put the tribble in my closet and its been there ever since.

All the money I ever spent on Trek I should have saved; I could just have DL'ed the stuff in the first place...

One thing I've learned about collecting: you never regret the money as much as you regret skipping something you really wanted.

But a few minor regrets:

1. I bought TOS on 40 discs rather than the season sets (but a lot of those were gifts)

2. I had about 100 Playmates figures and gave them all away when I moved into my first apartment. Five years later, I was trying to get them back on ebay (but now I'm getting the DST figures)

3. I didn't want to pay for Voyager so I downloaded the first season, and got a virus which crashed my computer (which proves the opposite).

I've been trying to unload my complete sets for at least 2 years now. No takers. Now they're sitting in a box in the closet. *sigh*

Teacake, This guy had all the 12" inch and 9" inch dolls mint in box, All the Playmate figures to include the 1701 Picard and Tri Fold Borg Mint in package. All the Playmate ships still Mint in box, a bunch of books, magazines, about 30 Franklin Mint plates, All the Christmas ornaments, cards, t-shirts, hats, posters, all the micromachine sets to include the third one with the Enterprise E in it and tons more stuff. He set it all up in a warehouse and took pictures and posted it on ebay. I ran to the loan company, got the loan in one day and ran back and bought the collection.

Hi everyone
Well, I have finally been able to sign up on here after trying for months. Everytime I tried to register I would never get the e-mail after to allow me to verify.
Anyway...I love your site and I love this subject thread here. Mind if I add mine?

Like a few others on here, I have also spent quite a bit on my ever growing Star Trek collection. Though I have been collecting for many years so it's not like I went out and spent 5 grand all in one shot like some have :)
Here are a few semi recent pics to give you at least a small sampling of what my collection looks like:
Lets see if I can get this to work:

All I can say to the above is... HOLY SHIT!

I'll second that emotion. Dear lord...I thought I was a tad obsessive. Some really neat stuff from what I can see, though. Lots of things I recognize, too.

I'm just a Star Trek fan like the rest of you :)
I would be happy to post some more pics, but since I have yet to accumulate 100 posts I guess I can't :(
