the new Radio Times for week commencing 2/1/10 features 'Ten Faces for 2010' and Matt's one of them, with Moffat writing the piece and he says 11 will meet
Winston Churchill

and that the Doctor acts like his father, despite appearing younger.

he also says 11 is not a wild, loud Doctor, he's quiet, intense and professorial but can act like a big kid.

I like that...a nice change from 10...I wanted to see an "older" Doctor inside the younger body...and the outfit fits the "professorial" idea too...

Damnit, you had me going! From the Main Index, all I saw is "Moffat confirms historical" and I got all excited! :(

Would even be better is if Brendan Gleeson was playing Chuchill again as he did in the recent HBO movie. Then again Brendan in any Doctor Who role would be brilliant!

Agreed. I like the contrast they seem to be going for there.

And I also love the quote from Moffat describing the overall tone of the next series as like a "dark fairytale". As much as I love the fun and wackiness of the RTD era, I do think it's time for a slight change in tone.

Wasn't there a rumour back in the summer that Churchill would appear an a Dalek episode?

Since Churchill is now confirmed, I wonder if the Dalek part will also turn out true?

Oh, thank god. I think I've had enough of RTD's ADHD era of Doctor Who. It was fun for what it was, but it's time for something different.

You've got more chance of dancing on custard than of a pure historical episode of Doctor Who in the future.

Personally, I'd also like an entire series where none or almost none of it happens on earth.

to my knowledge, the whole thing is based on a unreleased 10th Doctor graphic novel, Winston Churchill, the Daleks, everything.

talking of graphic novels I might review the DWM Donna adventures later
