Modern Warfare2 General Thread

saw the video for the new map pack. One of them, the commentary said its all on ground level. Somehow I doubt that. I'm pretty sure you could get up on stuff. No word on the two re-used maps-I'd like to know if they are identical or modified somewhat.
 
Watched that Gagdet Show episode... first, it's so loud and annoying - is all British TV like that? Second, it's basically an add for all the crap they use... and third, what a silly challenge. :p

Even if you discount the whole accuracy bonus, the test itself is flawed simply because the game auto-aims for you. You could see him using it in his playthrough. I mean, of course he'd be faster.

Still, I suppose it was neat to see a real life version of The Pit.

Don't the targets in The Pit shift back and forth? I think they do and if so, I'd give the game player the autoaim ability, but I wouldn't count the time it takes off for super accuracy. The SpecOps guy should have won.

Not to mention, the SpecOps guy actually, you know, DID something realworld useful. The geek could barely hop down into the Pit without breaking his ankle.
 
not all of the targets move in the pit. the first 5 are static. the two on the rooftop are static before you go in. two on the right of the building interior are static. two on the roof after you melee the guy at the top of the stairs are static and at least 4 in the last section are static including the last pair.
 
Double XP kicks off early with the release of the new maps according to IW Forums update today!
 
I'll be getting this now.

Discovered that I already have 270 points, and as I can buy 1000 not many will go to waste.
 
At least they're consistent.

Fixed. I have a realtime site I visit that keeps me in the loop and they say its working now. If Double xp doesn't work after your first match-restart Xbox. (Its only in new maps until 4/2, then all maps for the weekend).
 
New maps are decent, but FFS, could they not have let you pick which gamemode you want to play instead of subjecting you to all of them randomly?

I have absolutely zero interest in playing Sabotage, S&D, Demolition etc. :rolleyes:
 
Yeah, the playlists are fucking horrible. The worst was when we played sabotage on Crash. Then it switched to Domination on Crash, which we skipped... so it gave us demolition on Crash :rolleyes:

I like playing Ground War... since people actually run around and play in a 'trying to have fun' manner instead of the campfest that this entire playlist is.
 
Gotta admit-we hit HQ 7 times in a row last night and it got old. Then we hit TDM like 5 times. Final result 11 wins and 1 loss(HQ game with zip for a connection). I look forward to integration....

ed.-Just found oput complaints about this flooding IW-they intend to change things up today or tomorrow...

Loving these new maps. Even more so now they've put them in the normal playlists, instead of that horrible random factor section they were in before.
 
The new maps aren't bad, and they are growing on me. But I wish they had more creativity in their design. The whole anti-sniper, three lane approach of Bailout, Storm and Salvage is pretty generic. And all three are pretty small maps to boot. I thought the game engine was supposed to be able to handle larger maps?
 
It can handle it-but IW focused on "balanced gameplay" instead. Whatever the hell that means.

Ran the noobs into the dust-picked up 35+levels this weekend...bahahahahaha!
