Exactly. We know that Twilight and Sunset are very powerful, but they were students of Celestia, and tutored in ways to use that power. Starlight's power seems almost unlimited. I mean, she helped Alicorns hold the crystal heart together. What is this power, where is it from, how did she use it? Hell, how did she get it in the first place? I'm not going to say it's necessarily bad, but if she's connected to someone very powerful in the past, I'd like to know it.Twilight even said that unicorns are only born with enough power for their talent. Twilight and Sunset are meant to be the only two born with that kind of power because their talent *is* magic. And it had to be nutured and grew over time, Twilight from overstudying and Sunset from reading from advanced texts before she was ready (according to the comics), both were given powerful spells to master.
Starlight, we're supposed to believe she has more power than Twilight or Cadance, Alicorns, without any training, in a way that is so carefree as to not need to think about it? that shouldn't even be bodily possible for a unicorn.
That's a massive plot point that somebody really needs to address soon.
Remember when Twilight used the water tower and wind to lull the Ursa Minor back to sleep in Boast Busters? Ponyville nearly lost its collective *yay* at something so powerful. Starlight Glimmer changes Big Mac's physiology on an off-hand comment, and the best Applejack shows is annoyance. Really? Again, I like Starlight, and I think there's a good pony in there trying to assert herself, but the magic thing is really bugging me. They've overpowered her and failed to explain why. I think we need to know, and I hope we find out this season.
