"The Cutie Mark Crusaders find out that Miss Cheerilee doesn't have any partner for Hearts and Hooves Day. They decide to try getting Big Macintosh and Miss Cheerilee together. After they trick them both into drinking a love potion, the Crusaders discover the side effects of it. Now it's up to the Crusaders to keep the two apart long enough to break the spell."

I thought it was awesome, the CMC's were great this week, and Cherrilee getting more attention for once.

It was awesome. The song was great and I just love the Cutie Mark Crusader's obliviousness to any dangers their plans might involve. The reactions to Cheerilee's and Big Mac's nicknames for each other was hilarious. I also like that Doctor Whooves was featured rather prominently yet again. I chuckled at him not being good enough for Cheerilee.

A from me. The CMCs were just freakin' cute in this one and that they undid what they did was a good thing. Further... BIG MAC TALKED! But for the love of Celestia, let's make him less... mushy next time.

I thought it was outstanding, one of my favorites to date.

Sweetie Bell alone made it worth it. Her reactions were hilarious. I don't think I've laugh so hard it quite a while.

I just wish I could've been longer. There are some others I'd like to see find that special somepony.

I forgot to mention this earlier but this episode was a great example of the subversiveness I love about the show. They showed that much romance can be too much romance, that it's ok if you don't have a special somepony and that the special somepony doesn't have to be a knight in shining armor.

Did you catch him hanging out on a bridge with Derpy near the beginning of the song? Methinks somebody's been reading fanfic.

A from me. Loved everything about it. Great song, great story, great use of the CMC, great subversion of romantic girl's cartoons. One of my favorites of the season.

Poor Scootaloo, still can't fly, never been to Cloudsdale, shunned by her idol, now the only thing her wings are good for are plucking for spells.

Wonderfully well done! The CMC are at their best in this episode, and for me, the best CMC is Sweetie Belle this time around. I just adore that little filly. Big Mac and Cheerilee do look adorable together, and the song was great! Definite 'A'.

As I just posted on EqD: I think they established quite a bit of material for the season finale or next season premiere this week.

I'm calling it now: the unicorn and alicorn in the history book *were* Shining Armor and Princess Cadence. It just makes no sense to establish something that similar to already-announced characters unless they're one and the same.

Further: 20 bits says they're establishing time travel in episode 18 so they can use it in the finale or whatever episode(s) it is that features Cadence.

And *really* going out on a limb: they'll surprise us with the return of Discord, probably his past self, vis á vis the comment this week about the kingdom falling to "chaos." Yes, it's unlikely. But wouldn't it be awesome?

So apparently the prince and princess they were talking about was before celestia and luna's time and before discord but after the founding of Equestria. so there were monarchs before discord, but the messup with the love potion incapacitated the ruling monarchs and allowed discord to come in to power. with discord in power celestia and luna came in to defeat discord and took the reigns from there. could the other monarchs could be a different line from celestia and luna?

Once again, this show manages to impress and once again Meagan McCarthy knocks it out of the proverbial park. This is, simply, my favorite Cutie Mark Crusaders episode up to this point. (Especially after the dull "Family Appreciation Day")

Sweetie Belle really stole the show at times with her hilarious reactions ("OH COME ON!!!"), although all three of them managed to crack me up from time to time. It was great to see a Twilight cameo to really get the plot started. Her expression when the CMCs left after just one book was funny too.

The song was enjoyable too, catchy, had some funny sight gags and didn't go on too long.

But, the real hilarity was with Cherilee and Big Mac under the spell of the love "poison." It was wonderfully over-the-top in the names and slapstick was just about perfect. The ending was funny as well.

Great stuff all around.

The "Oh come on!" was definitely the best part. I was laughing so hard.

This is partly due all the time I spent during my early teen years playing Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball for the SNES. When you struck someone, he'd turn around and shout "Oh Come on!" like he was yelling at the umpire. But it actually looked like he was breaking the fourth wall.

It was the source of endless amusement and antics for me and my friends in those days.

Not in the episode itself but I saw screenshots of it shortly after I had watched the episode. Really cool.
