MLB Talk - 2010 Season

Yankees/Red Sox game has been rain-delayed for over two hours now. How long will they continue to wait before the game is cancelled?

They'll usually wait about 3 hours.

Less than half an hour until first pitch...I'm seriously anxious about this game tonight. I think I even dreamed about it last night!

Tonight is Matt Cain's 26th birthday, so I hope he gets himself one hell of a party!

Padrees!

:shifty:

I might have jinxed it tonight, calling a friend (I've always talked to the lady in person, in class) and fellow Giants fan for the first time to talk Giants baseball. :(

I'm not concerned...yet

If we're talking about this on Sunday Night then I will be. Nice thing about going into the series being up 3 games is you have 3 chances to win one game. Yeah, the Padres have swept before, but it's still 3 chances to win one game. Those are good odds. Hopefully the Giants get them tomorrow.

Again that sucked. The Giants are playing like a team that doesn't want it. I know the saying is the last out is the hardest to get, and it could also work with the last game, but this is crazy.

Not all is lost though. The Braves were losing and if they lose today and tomorrow, the Giants are in the Playoffs. I just want to see the Giants pull it off and tomorrow is going to be gut-wrenching and interesting.

Barry Zito is dead to me. Walking in the two runs that ended up being the difference? Inexcusable.

That said...Sanchez has a chance to redeem himself for that bonehead quote of his about sweeping the Pads the last time we played them by shutting up that punk ass Mat Latos and being dominant against those SD batters to show that no-no wasn't a fluke.

The Phillies used a nobody to kick off a 3-hitter against the Braves. A record crowd for a baseball game in Atlanta and they leave the @#$%ing bats at home. We can just kiss the playoffs goodbye tomorrow.

^So what's the deal, Braves win plus Padres loss = wild card.

If the Braves and Padres both win that sets off some funky 3-way tiebreaker scenario.

Well, the Yankees have blown every chance at becoming the Division Champs for the AL East and will have to settle for the wild card slot. As such, the playing field is now set

Yankees at the Twins and Texas at Tampa.

While it sucks that the Yankees couldn't take their division, in the past the Yankees have proven to be kryptonite to the Twins. Let's see if it continues this post season.

And the wild card has won the World Series four times (1997, 2002, 2003, 2004) so don't count the Yanks out yet! :techman:

Since my Jays once again failed to make the playoffs, I'll continue my practice of cheering for the ones that haven't been there and might not make it back any time soon: Cincinnati and Texas. I will also be cheering for Atlanta simply to give Bobby Cox a good send off!

No love for Tampa? :p
