Maybe I'll just cheer for whichever team has cuter guys.
Or cheer for the cutest guys, regardless of which team they're on. That will confuse my seatmates.
The Rockies get no love east of the Mississippi river. They've got a viable Cy Young candidate in Ubaldo Jimenez and a viable MVP candidate in Carlos Gonzalez who few people have heard of.
Young shortstop Troy Tulowitzki is on a tear right now wth 7 RBIs in his last game alone.
They do it with a relatively small payroll and mostly homegrown talent.
The Braves? A Turner network backed evil empire. It would be like rooting for Darth Vader to kill Luke.

Hey, Ted Turner sold the Braves. It's still an evil empire, though.

Didn't realize Turner had sold. I remember living in Arkansas in the mid 90s and that was all that was on. And every game featured at least one shot of him in the front row.
I grew to hate the Braves and all they stood for.
Even one of their own fans is giving up on them. Go Rockies!

Twins sweep the White Sox! Their magic number is now down to 8. If they hold on, I have a feeling I'll be shelling out big bucks for playoffs tickets.
As well there shouldn't be.
Hell, by the end of last night's game, not too many Dodger fans liked them too much either. 
In other news, Joe Torre is stepping down as the manager of the Dodgers at the end of the season, and Don Mattingly will take the reins.
Granted, without a change in ownership and front office management, the Dodgers are still looking at a Really Bad Season in 2011, so I have a feeling that taking the manager's job is one of those "be careful what you wish for" things, not entirely unlike Alan Trammell and the Tigers.
In any event, think of what we're looking at next year: No Lou. No Cox. No Torre. Please, please let 2010 mark the beginning of the end of an era of shitty, old managers. (Please go away, La Russa.)

I'm about ready to see what the Braves can do with someone else at the helm. I don't really have anything against Bobby, but he's been playing favorites for the past several years. Greg frakking Norton stayed on the team the whole year as a pinch hitter batting .098
I love the Dodgers. Always have, always will. But this year has been so awful I gave up watching and caring about this season. It's just too painful to watch.
I've always been a casual fan of the Dodgers, but given all the recent turmoil, I can't even begin to fathom what was going through Bud Selig's mind when he approved the sale to Frank McCourt. I mean, McCourt leveraged almost the entire $421 million purchase, and now the team is an additional $430 million in debt. The Christ?
"This man wants to buy the team through an almost entirely debt-funded purchase and put up a $200 million parking lot as collateral. This is a brilliant idea. How can I lose?"
For a guy who's made some pretty insane decisions, Selig has made the league ridiculously profitable. But that sale ranks up there with some all-time retarded moves.
