Sorry, I forgot to mention which game! It was Twins/Yankees.

Kimberly was reporting from the stands at Target Field and there was a loud obnoxious fan standing directly behind her. At one point he actually leaned down and took a bite out of the pork-chop-on-a-stick (one of the treats served at the new ballpark; they also have walleye-on-a-stick) that she was carrying. While Michael Kay and Al Leiter were freaking out (and cracking up), they pointed out that she had been holding that food item since about the 2nd or 3rd inning and it was most likely cold by then.

Although I admit that it was a skewed debate in the first place:

The MLB Network commentators were debating over which was the better mascot, Mr. Met or the Phillie Phanatic. Now as we all know, the Phanatic is naturally more outgoing and goofy. That's what he's supposed to be. So he'll inevitably end up more popular than Mr. Met, who lots of times doesn't really have much to do. Still, they didn't have to be so arrogant about it.

And the best pitcher nobody has seen continues to roll. The Rockies' Ubaldo Jimenez lowered his ERA to 0.88, winning his 9th game. But because he plays in the Mountain Time Zone, he gets no love.

He doesn't play for the Yankees, Red Sox, or Phillies, so he doesn't get a lot of play in any region.

Have a night Matt Cain. Man he was dominant tonight, 1 hit complete game shut out. That might be one of his best games of his career, and the Park tonight looked absolutely gorgeous. The hitting too was pretty good, even though things can change so much from game to game.

I might be going to the Monday Day game with Lincecum and Jiminez. That ought to be a fun pitching match up, and hopefully Lincecum can shake off this slump he's in and go back to being one of the best pitchers in baseball.

Roy Halladay just pitched a Perfect game against the Marlins. Has that ever happened before, two perfect games in one season, let alone one month. Hitters better start paying attention since how many Perfect games/no hitters have we seen since Buehrle's last year? It's even been less than a year with all of this happening.

Well, you have to consider that he was on the Blue Jays, who haven't exactly give Doc run or defense support.

Hitters better start paying attention since how many Perfect games/no hitters have we seen since Buehrle's last year?

Last perfect prior to that was Randy Johnson in 2004.

Well, you have to consider that he was on the Blue Jays, who haven't exactly give Doc run or defense support.

The Jays have never been terrible, defensively, IMO. Hitting, the bullpen, the rest of the rotation, yeah, all those have been bad or questionable at various points. But I can't ever recall a time where the defence cost Halladay a no-hitter or a perfect game.

The big difference is probably AL versus NL.
