And I'm glad Phil Hughes is pitching fifth for the Yanks. Joba belongs in the bullpen where he can get out there in the 8th.

One day a little boy walks into his kindergarten class wearing a Cubs hat. The teacher notices the little boy wearing the hat and asks him why he is a Cubs fan. The little boy responds, "Because my mommy and daddy are Cubs fans." The teacher responds, "Well that is not a good way to live your life. Now what if your dad was a drug dealer and your mom was a hooker?" The boy replied, "Then I'd be a White Sox fan."

Braves fans, here's a thought to drop into your mental microwave and see if it defrosts: Who do you see taking over for Bobby Cox?

^^
We'll be done with Cito Gaston at the end of the year, if Atlanta wants another former Jays manager.

Damn. :guffaw:

Less than 48 hours until the opening pitch, folks! I'm calling the Red Sox to go 162-0, with no playoffs at all because the rest of the MLB forfeited. :techman:

Seriously though...while I'd like to have seen them get another bat, I really like Boston's rotation. And I think Beltre's going to do better than expected; he's out to nab another big contract, after all.

Opening Day (Monday) really should be a holiday. So glad Extra Innings is Free and I'm still looking for work. Looking forward to a day of Baseball, Fantasy, and hopefully the Giants not embarrassing themselves.

Is there such a thing as "losing well."

I know in my area we're 40 minutes away, but Happy Opening Day all. May all your teams do well, and hey, if you're a Royals or Pirates fan, this is the one day a year you can be optimistic. Of course that all changes on day two, but I digress. ;)

So the Red Sox have a mediocre offense huh?

Never would have known that watching tonight...

9-7 Sox win over the Spanks...always nice to see.

David Wright just hit a home run for the Mets. I wish he held off a little longer, has only has 2-3 more left in the tank this year.

Plus, I HATE those new unis they are wearing.

Beckett officially re-upped for 4 more years. Gotta love a rotation that includes Beckett, Lester, Lackey, and Buchholz under team control until 2014 (with Dice-K through 2012). Increases the chances that Buchholz gets another look as the trade piece for a bat, but as of right now, that's a pretty good rotation to have locked in for the forseeable future :)

Garrett Jones has hit two home runs in his first two at bats for the Pirates. I guess he's already trade bait.
