MLB Pseudo-Season 2020: Roger, Dodgers

Thankful that the trade deadline has past. This season now 'counts' for luxury tax purposes, so the Red Sox got their tank season in and can hopefully cut the shit and go back to competing (or at least giving the semblance of trying) next year. This season was expected, but still hard to watch.

Actually, I've been doing a lot of NOT watching them, so that's helped even more...

Cubs have done a minor league deal with Pedro Strop. I mean, why? This guy was burnt out before he left for Cincy.

But could he be better than Kimbrel at this point? Or any of the other unreliable bullpen guys?

Jeffress, Tepera, Wick and Rea have been mostly solid. Otherwise it's a lottery.

And today's game 2 is a "bullpen game". Not looking forward to that one.

Do various teams have different rules regarding their broadcasters?

Because I'm watching the Mets game now and all of the SNY announcers are in the same booth. I didn't know they were allowed to do that..for example the Yankees have to have Michael Kay alone in one booth, David Cone alone in another booth, and Paul O'Neill at his home.

You sure they don't have plexiglas between them? Some of the games I've seen today had them separated by plexi.

The desperation continues. The Cubs optioned Jose "DH" Martinez and his 0-14 to South Bend to make room for recently acquired Billy Hamilton and his 1-22.

Epstein and Hoyer are really working hard and doing nothing. Shooting for an all Medoza Line(up)?

Also, Dan Vogelbach now in Milwaukee after a short stay with the Buffalo Blue Jays. Never thought he'd see the NL again.

He never realized what ever potential that he may have had.

Sort of like Almora. I always wanted that guy to hit consistently to keep that A++ defense in the lineup, but it never happened and even that defense hasn't been what it once was. Happ has played a solid defense in CF and is hitting...a lot. Top OPS in the league for most of the last few weeks.

Jesus tap-dancing Christ there's been some ridiculous scores lately. But just yesterday....
