On the previous pitch, he argued with the umpire about a called strike to the point that the Rangers manager came out to further argue. After hitting the home run, he kicked dirt across home plate and he was immediately ejected. Then, and this is my favorite part, Donaldson turned back around from his trot to the dugout to kick even more dirt all over home plate. :lol:

Most, if not all, umps need to be kicked squar' in their asses.
 
I hope that "half in Tampa, half in Montréal" idea dies a quick death. It's never going to work. And it would be a betrayal of BOTH cities.

I mean, are the Rays seriously thinking "we'd like to play in TWO shitty stadiums a year instead of just one"? :confused:
 
Before the 2018 season, Colorado spent $106 million on three relievers -- Wade Davis, Jake McGee and Bryan Shaw. They just DFAed Davis, meaning they're all gone. The other two were released before this season.

This is funny, when the scoring is in real time but the headline isn't (since I never refreshed the page). They pulled him after six innings in the middle of a no-hitter and the bullpen immediately gives up the lead in the seventh.
 
I just looked up his stats this and the reason why is he hasn't gone deep at all this season and his two outings weren't more than 3 innings. That makes sense now. Still sucks though.

The Rays play in St. Petersburg, but you're correct about the lease running through 2027. St. Petersburg has no incentive to let them out of the lease. For some reason, Tampa's Mayor (who is not stupid) has signed up with the half-Tampa half Montreal idiocy. I could fill up pages and pages about the St. Petersburg/Tampa rivalry and why the team is in St. Petersburg, instead of Tampa, but I won't. Tampa had a decent proposed location in their Ybor City Latin District, but the Rays rejected it because Tampa wasn't going to pay for it. With the hit every city has taken from Covid, I doubt if any municipality is going to be eager to cough up a minimum of a billion $ U.S. (or more in Loonies) for a stadium any time soon. Although it happened in Texas, so who knows?

Cease is a great name for a pitcher if you have the talent to match it.
