MLB Pseudo-Season 2020: Roger, Dodgers

Manfred has refused to counter the MLBPA's proposal to play 70 games. Ergo, there are now one of three possible outcomes:

1) The union accepts MLB's offer to play a 60-game schedule (with the added provision that the union waives its right to file a grievance over the violation of the March agreement).

2) Manfred unilaterally imposes a schedule (likely to be 48 games).

3) No season.

Praying for number 3, as much as I miss baseball.

I too am praying for number 3. It's not worth it at this point and a 48 game season is meaningless. You want to talk about asterisks, you might as well put one on this season because that's what it will be. In 20 years you go looking through the record books and people see a 48 game season sandwiched between many 162 game seasons and they will be like, why are they keeping track of these records.

Now I feel sorry for the team owner. Soon that payment will be sent to a collection agency and he will have to spend who knows how much time dodging phone calls and looking out the window whenever someone comes to door making sure it's not someone coming to collect.

The one signed in March. Teams are supposed to report for Spring Training on July 1st, if the players and owners can hammer out safety issues.

All I know, is that players better start building a battle chest now...
