MLB Pseudo-Season 2020: Roger, Dodgers

I can never tell if you're being straightforward or if you're the best gimmick poster in the history of the Internet (I know it's the latter, and bravo), but where would they play?

More of a explorer of idea's. I talk about things I do believe in but also things I find to be interesting from a curiosity level but also things I think others might be interested in talking about. Plus just having fun while doing it and trying not to get to serious about things though I guess sometimes my stress and concerns show through.

As for where to play I was thinking college stadiums or spring training fields. Maybe even football fields that could be converted. Things that might not get great attendance but would maybe be cheap in order to buy access to. With a goal of also creating a smaller intimate experience for fans than you might get at a MLB game. When I type this it just occurred to me I am sort of channeling the idea in "Field of Dreams" especially Earl Ray Jones speech about how they will come.

This year? I think it unlikely that a league could ramp up in a month? Nor do I think players would be likely to invest their wealth in the product.

Here's the past few days..

Players: ok, just tell us what we're going to do and we'll do it

Owners: We don't want to tell you what to do, we would rather continue negotiations.

Players: Cool, let's negotiate.

Owners: here is our proposal

Players: Hmm..

Owners: WE HAVE AN AGREEMENT!!!

Players: Wait...no we don't..here is our proposal

Owners: Look at them going back on our AGREEMENT! BLAME THEM!! ALL HAIL THE OWNERS!

I'm ready for the season to be cancelled at this point. With all the negative news happening in this sport, they don't deserve a season.

I'm of the mindset that owners are 75% at fault and the players/union are 25% at fault (±5% margin of error). Owners are greedy bastards no doubt, but when the union came back with their "70 game" proposal, it looked to have a shitload of conditions added in. Maybe those were in their last counter-proposal and I just didn't read that far into it. Like "hey, let's use this to somehow counter balance our stupidity from the last CBA).

I miss baseball, even the Cubs, but no season wouldn't be that disappointing.

I kind of agree at this point. Even though it would be fun to see them in action I feel at this point any World Series wouldn't feel legitimate for whoever won. Plus it would be nice to know that the whole thing won't be shutdown before they even get to that point because of another round of COVID because you know many of the players would still become infected even with precautions.

IT'S A FUCKING GAME. A GAME IS NOT WORTH RISKING LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE'S LIVES.

Money > Peoples lives

23 Clemson football players tested positive, you know they will still be out there in September, just move the dead and sick to the sideline...SPORTS!
