MLB Pseudo-Season 2020: Roger, Dodgers

Two weeks sounds like really wishful thinking. Illinois governor JB Pritzker is recommending no sporting events in Illinois until May, per The Athletic.

Yeah, I would be very surprised if it's only two weeks, especially when you consider the NCAA tournament was completely cancelled it would've run well into April.

To be fair, Pritzker is a fucking moron, so there's that. He can make up the difference by taxing something else.

I'm not sure MLB sticks to "2 weeks" if a longer wait is warranted, it sounds more like a starting point.

two weeks minimum, and then at least a week or two for the players to ramp back up again (spring training didn't finish). June as the start date for a shorter season? Put me down for late in the week after Memorial Day for opening day. Unless things go to shit completely, in which case...?

Owners will fight having a shorter season unless the players agree to a pay cut of some sort, get ready for a late December world series.

RE: new thread title LOL

Yall will just do anything to pick on poor defenseless trash can lid connoisseurs. Trash can lid banging is an art form. When I was growing up we banged trash can lids all the time. Not to signal pitches in a baseball park, but just to irritate someone. Those poor Astros were just trying to point out the dust on the home plate and look at what everyone says now.

Go Astros!

:p

I think they should shoot for a 75-80 game season that starts in July.

I think June 1 is probably realistic (the pandemic will have receded by then; enveloped viruses like COVID-19 do not survive well in direct sunlight and heat), and if MLB were to go with a weighted schedule, you could squeeze ... 108 games in there? Somewhere around that number, I think.

I'm watching lots of old games on YouTube to get my baseball fix. Latest game is a regular season game between the Cubs and Phillies in 1993. Pitching matchup was Danny Jackson vs Greg Hibbard.

Jason

If you think he spent too much time fellating the Sox, then I would have to object to the wet, sloppy rim job he gave the Yankees in The Tenth Inning, to the point where the Phillies' 2008 World Series championship was barely even mentioned; just a tiny pothole on the road to the eternal reign of YEAH JEETS and the Yankees. Fucking barf.
