MLB Pseudo-Season 2020: Roger, Dodgers

Being originally from Toledo, I grew up with Ernie Harwell doing Tigers games on the radio. On good old AM radios, if you held your tongue just right and sat facing the right direction, you might pick up the Indians, too. We even got WGN once in a blue moon.

I believe clouds allowed AM waves to bounce and go further.

At least Sunday's game will be back with Len & JD. They aren't spectacular, but they aren't annoying like some national guys I could mention.

Len Kasper is one of the best PBP guys working today and there's a reason Fox keeps trying to poach him.

Deshaies is good-ish, but he tends to veer into "cranky old man yelling at cloud" territory when Len brings up advanced statistics.

By the way, gang. The cardboard cutouts look better than Fox's virtual fans.

I checked out the Dodgers game this afternoon. They had cardboard cutouts, and the "fan noise" was way turned up.

I guess it isn't a big deal, I was just so surprised by it last night. It looked and sounded really stupid (to me).

Aw shit. Joe Buck's doing the Yankees-Senators game. At least they has Smoltzy to counteract the buckster.

I liked Harry and Steve back in the day. Not so much with Steve after Harry died. Sometimes two guys just work well together, unlike (was it?) the two guys from Detroit that got into it. Ron Santo & Pat Hughes were good on the radio side.

Infant. Tomorrow I turn into a septuagenarian.

Damn, you old! I'm only a "quinquagenarian" whatever TF that's about

My favorites in Chicago were John Rooney and the late Ed Farmer on White Sox radio. Loved Skip Caray and Ernie Johnson when we lived in Atlanta.

I heard very little of Skip Caray, Jack Buck or Marty Brennemann, but all 3 of their offspring are like nails on a chalkboard to me. A shame talent isn't genetic.

Reynaldo Lopez and Corey Kluber were both pulled early with arm and shoulder tightness.

Ken Giles suffered from elbow soreness in his bad outing today.

Shohei Ohtani bombed hard in his first and only inning, but I don't know if that was injury related.

It seems like many pitchers weren't properly ready for this rushed, shortened season.
