I am not always a fan of all that humans do. This is one of those behaviors.
If you’ve ever went to a game, bought merchandise, listened on radio or watched on TV, then you’re part of the problem.
So, what is your endgame, here? Or are you just virtue signaling?
Venting a frustration more than anything else. Don't know how I'm virtue signaling anything since people don't give a shit about this. So, I'm expressing my opinion, and that's about it. End of story.
Professional sports is like a big bag of peanut M&Ms, you can't resist even though it's not good for you.
Nah, I can only eat so many of the peanut M&M's. Too dry for my taste. The mint ones are another story.
Buck Showalter is the new Mets mgr? Seriously?
I can't imagine the A's playing at Oakland-Alameda Coliseum for another eight years. Especially with their lease expiring in 2024.
After getting burned on Beltran, they probably didn't want a manager that needed training wheels.
Well, that's California politics for ya. Nothing ever gets done. Everything's tied up in some damn committee.
Screw Oakland. If Vegas can get the A's a new stadium, then fucking GO for it. People like to blather about how tragic it is because teams move when they can't get a new stadium? Well, teams do that because it WORKS!
It is still shitty.
One of the most overrated managers of the era, though he did help out the Blue Jays by keeping Britton the bench in 2016.
As for the Oakland situation, both them and Tampa need to be relocated. It is absolutely embarrassing that Oakland plays in a stadium that has sewage backups on a yearly basis and Tampa is a top team in the league and plays in front of 5,000 fans in the league's worst stadium. This is not a "go somewhere where public money will fund a stadium."
I don't give a frog's fat ass WHO pays for it. If it takes public money to get the A's and Rays new stadiums, then do it!
Fans are customers, and customers expect results. New stadiums can be enjoyed by the public, so as far as I'm concerned...the public should pay for it, if that's what it takes to get the damn things built.
And yeah, it DOES kind of suck that teams can threaten to move if they don't get a new stadium. But as I said, they do that BECAUSE IT FUCKING WORKS. If Oakland or Tampa Bay don't want new ballparks bad enough? Screw them! Let the teams find new cities that will! It all works itself out in the end!
No. Been proven time and again that municipalities take a bath on these things. Government isn’t there to build billion dollar play pens for billionaires. If they are such great ideas let the owners pay for them.
I would rather the Rays and A’s close up shop than give them a penny of public money.
If ownership can't afford a new stadium, they can do what every regular human being does when they want to build or buy or renovate their house: Go to the bank and ask for a loan. Stop begging at the public teat. Public money has no business propping up private enterprise, especially not when we're still in the depths of a major economic crisis.
What about public money for a bigger sewer snake for o.com?
Or they could just do like what every regular human being does and call Roto Rooter.
Oh, lordy...Angel Hernandez is trending.
