Screw Oakland. If Vegas can get the A's a new stadium, then fucking GO for it. People like to blather about how tragic it is because teams move when they can't get a new stadium? Well, teams do that because it WORKS!

As for the Oakland situation, both them and Tampa need to be relocated. It is absolutely embarrassing that Oakland plays in a stadium that has sewage backups on a yearly basis and Tampa is a top team in the league and plays in front of 5,000 fans in the league's worst stadium. This is not a "go somewhere where public money will fund a stadium."

 

I don't give a frog's fat ass WHO pays for it. If it takes public money to get the A's and Rays new stadiums, then do it!

Fans are customers, and customers expect results. New stadiums can be enjoyed by the public, so as far as I'm concerned...the public should pay for it, if that's what it takes to get the damn things built.

And yeah, it DOES kind of suck that teams can threaten to move if they don't get a new stadium. But as I said, they do that BECAUSE IT FUCKING WORKS. If Oakland or Tampa Bay don't want new ballparks bad enough? Screw them! Let the teams find new cities that will! It all works itself out in the end!

 

No. Been proven time and again that municipalities take a bath on these things. Government isn’t there to build billion dollar play pens for billionaires. If they are such great ideas let the owners pay for them.

I would rather the Rays and A’s close up shop than give them a penny of public money.
