I think Billy Wagner is going to end up with the Braves. We're gonna need a closer and he's the best on the market I think.
Wikipedia says John Lackey signed a 5 year deal with the Mets...can anyone confirm? Can't find anything about this on the Mets' website or ESPN (where the news supposedly broke).
No clue. I just looked it up. It looks like a fake wiki imput to me.

Trade for Roy Halladay
Sign either Matt Holliday or Jason Bay for left field.
Another wild card is Josh Johnson on the Marlins. I could see the Red Sox pulling a deal similar to the Josh Beckett deal, instead of going after Halladay.
The name I keep hearing for the Giants is Jason Bay. That would be nice, having Bay and Sandoval in the line-up. Doesn't solve the hitting problems over night, but it's a step in the right direction.
I would not be surprised if that was his destination. They need offense, and are willing to pay.
I feel the Red Sox like Holliday over Bay, since he is a better left fielder, baserunner, and overall hitter, even though Bay hits for more power. The Red Sox need less streaky guys in their lineup, and they need guys who play good defense, since the left side of that infield, and left field, were terrible defensive positions last year for them.
Ellsbury in center and Drew in right are average to above average defenders, and Youk and Pedroia are both above average to excellent defenders. That left side however was a fucking sieve last year, and it needs to be fixed.
Which has since been removed...looks like it was (and still is) only a rumor.
Still hope it pans out, though. God knows the Mets need all the help they can get.

I predict that the Nationals will be the worst team in both leagues in 2010.

The Mets are a lughingstock at this point. They have too many holes to start strong.

Long story short, the Red Sox owner wants a major overhaul in the way MLB teams share revenue because big market teams that generate the biggest revenues are unfairly penalized. He's fine with a payroll tax, but he doesn't want the bottom-payroll owners that receive most of the revenue sharing to pocket all of the money either.
But I was mostly interested in his comment that 5 of the 7 teams that receive the most revenue sharing have the highest operating profits, which basically means they're pocketing the money. Who do you think those teams are? I'd have to say the Pirates are one of them.
