MLB Chatter 2008

Why did they pull it off of YouTube? :wtf:

And damn, I missed it! I'll check the Indians' site later.

I was going to ask the same thing. So showing short 30 second highlights and getting advertising for it is also copyright infringement? Come on where is the line drawn on this.

It is illegal to reproduce, in whole or in part, images, video recordings or transcriptions of games without the permission of Major League Baseball, the involved teams and the broadcaster.

Big Game Maine strikes again. This time he plunked the leadoff hitter and later on when he was asked about it in the clubhouse he replied "It slipped." Big Game Maine can do no wrong and hes gonna style on the Yanks on Sunday.

Woohoo! Brandon Webb just recorded his ninth win! :D
I could still kick myself for trading Webb away in the keeper league, but at least one of the players I got for him was Lance Berkman.

I'm a little bummed out about my Twins. They did great in their series against the Boston, but they lost it against Toronto. They've exceeded my (lowered) expectations in many ways, but they've lost too many games due to stupid mistakes. I think I've seen more base running screw-ups in the last few days than I usually see all season.

Nice to see the Mets drop 2 of 3 to the Nats. Ugh.

Subway series starts tonight - the underwhelming and inconsistent Mets vs. the last place Yanks. Oh boy.

At least we get to see Johan pitch in front of the boss and with the way the Yanks have sucked harder then the Mets this should be a nice pitching preformance. I`m also excited about sunday night cause I`ll be there live cheering on the Mets. Hopefully this team doesn`t screw it up for Big Game Maine

You may have a wait. It's pouring down rain here in NYC and it's supposed to last all weekend. And yeah - both teams ain't so hot right now. But it's a long slog till October.

Why yes it was :p

Wow, I hadn't realized it was quite that bad. Still, both teams really do want to beat the other, so they'll hopefully step up and at least make that an interesting series to watch. And if the Yankees really aren't that good, maybe your team can at least pick up a few wins to help them keep pace.

^ Both teams are just maddeningly mediocre. The Yanks have a bunch of young pitching, I can see them needing a year or two to rebuild their staff into contenders.

The Mets have two old and injured pitchers who can't be counted on for much anymore. And a dreadful 'pen.

Saunders pitched a nice game for the Angels last night.

I like interleague play. It's always fun beating the Dodgers.

:techman:

Between Webb and Saunders, I'm very happy (for my fantasy team). I own the top two winning pitchers in baseball. :D

How is it that Oliver Perez could look so shaky last night, yet when you look at his box score, he only gave up 3 hits in 7 innings. I'll take the win, but I just don't get it.

I predict a Hank Steinbrenner meltdown soon. Yanks are in last place and just lost two to the boys from across town.

I also put no faith in all the "We've turned it around" rhetoric coming out of the Mets. I'm sure that talk will last all the way up until they get beaten in a doubleheader in Atlanta, where they haven't won a game in what feels like 10 years.

Nice little series for the Mets, and the Red Sox thank you (always nice to see the Yankees spanked). Of course, the way they are playing, bet they wish they could get that makeup game in NOW, rather than waiting until the next matchup, but oh well. Gotta make the Boss happy seeing Johan come in and put down the Yanks, plays well in the papers ;)

Was at a slugfest Sox game yesterday, but thankfully the Sox swept the Brewers. A little disappointed we didn't get to torch Gagne, but maybe another time. Was hilarious to hear the crowd chanting "we want Gagne" in the late innings, though. I was in the first couple rows in the RF corner, so I could see right into the dugout, and Gagne had to be embarassed as hell. He didn't appear to be enjoying the attention :p

Is anyone else concerned about Josh Beckett? He must be tipping his curveball or something, because three were hit yesterday for homeruns, and all three were pretty good pitches. He is still throwing 97, not walking anyone, and continues to strike out a ton of batters, so he isnt injured I would say. It was just strange to see 3 monster homeruns on 3 pretty damn good curveballs.
