MLB 2025: The A's are Playing Where Now?

Tigers just need one win or an Astros loss and they're in and the Astros will miss the postseason for the first time since 2016.

Mets and Reds are tied for the last NL wild card. Reds own the tiebreaker so the Mets must do one game better to advance (with their $300 million payroll).

Guardians win, Tigers lose, Guardians win the AL Central and the Tigers are the wild card (and now they play each other).

Yankees win, Blue Jays win, Blue Jays win the AL East and the Yankees are the wild card.

Reds lose, Mets lose, Reds are the wild card and the Mets are out.

Who had the Blue Jays as the No. 1 AL team and the Brewers as the No. 1 NL team?

Bob Melvin has been relieved of his duties. I think it had to happen. This was a team of underachievers, especially since the Devers trade.

I just glanced over to watch the sports report on TV and they were interviewing Gregg Greene, who happens to be in charge of Marketing and Promotions for the Seattle Mariners.
He was a sophomore when I was senior and in band/orchestra with my brother and started off as a bat boy for the Mariners when he was a junior.
He's been with the Mariners organization for 35+ years.

Bruce Bochy, who won a World Series in his first season with Texas, is out as manager two years later. They've offered him a front office job.

If the Yankees lose this series Boone has to be fired right? Took out Fried in what could be the Yankees "Blake Snell" moment.

The Blake Snell moment lost the World Series. This is the Carlos Zambrano moment, where Lou Pinella took him out early in Game 1 to save him for a Game 4 that never happened because the bullpen blew Game 1 and they got swept.

Ron Washington will not be returning to the LA Angels. Supposed to be based on team performance and not his health.

"You know, when you're a competitor, and you're in charge, none of that stuff comes into play," Washington told The Athletic. "Sometimes you've got to make chicken salad out of chicken s---."
A straightforward guy for sure, and an honest assessment of that team

Yeah another shitty season. I don't know how much Washington could have done, seeing as how our run differential was over -180.

:scream:

Brian Snitker moving to a front office role for the Braves. Sounds like it was mostly his own decision to exit the manager role.

Rockies GM Bill Schmidt is out <insert gasp of surprise here>.

You know, all these player decisions that fans like to blame the manager for, in this day and age of analytics and an entire analytics office, we don't know how much say the manager even has anymore. Everything from lineup to when to pull the starter to which relievers come in, might not be his say.

I hope we get an elimination today. The losers have fought back so far. Of course I think the Dodgers have this series wrapped up based on how the Reds looked last night.
