MLB 2025: The A's are Playing Where Now?

Mets baserunner Ronny Mauricio was going to be forced out at second base but the throw was really high and DJ LeMahieu had to leap for it, so after sliding Mauricio gets up and starts toward third, looking back at the outfield to see where the ball was. However, LeMahieu had the ball and tags him for the third out.

Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski has been named to the All-Star Game. He has only been in the league for one month. Five starts before making the All-Star Game is the new record, previously set by Paul Skenes with 11 last season.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand he has only had 5 starts and there aren't other pitchers who might be more deserving? On the other, he is looking like a special player and the All Star Game is more show than game anyway. Highlight your young talent and have Skenes and Mis go back to back innings.

Not my sorta 'pitch' but the most important thing is that The Cosmos are helping to preserve some baseball history.

Phillies players are upset by this because their own Ranger Suarez or Cristopher Sanchez weren't selected instead. What they don't bring up is that the only reason Jacob Misiorowski is going is because 12 other pitchers said no, including Zach Wheeler of the Phillies.

I heard about that story, and I started thinking about bonuses players get for being selected. If the Phillies are complaining despite actually saying no to the invite, then they don't have room to complain. Seems like when they finally got around to Misiorowski, he said yes.

There also seems to be a starting pitcher mentality going on here. Why does it have to be a starting pitcher if they don't go more than one inning (and some never even see the field)? There are a lot of great relievers (not necessarily closers) who get snubbed every year.

Yeah. In the Bay Area, they are talking about Tyler Rogers not going to the game, even though he has had an amazing first half. Would like to see more relief pitchers invited.

I miss the old format. Things go so quick now that you don't have time to marvel the distance. It's just one after the other. I also know kn the old format the thing was starting to get boring.

I wish they would come up with an actual skills competition night. Maybe running the bases, or a throw relay around the bases? Something different to spice things up.

Congrats to the Raleigh family for winning the HR Derby. That was a great event.

Cody Rhodes just made an appearance and ESPN didn't mention it. That was kinda awkward.

The Rays are being sold for $1.7 billion to a group led by Patrick Zalupski. Throw that St. Petersburg stadium/retail/residential plan out the window because the new owner would prefer the team be in Tampa, which would drastically improve traffic getting to and from.
