MLB 2025: The A's are Playing Where Now?

But did anyone see those blunders the Cubs made last night in the same half inning? The Cubs center fielder forgot how many outs there were.

Oneil Cruz also forgot how many outs there were and didn't hustle on a double play because he thought the inning was over. The manager then yanked him from the game. Not that it mattered. It's not like the Pirates have anything on the line to play for.

A 22-year-old fan has been banned indefinitely from all MLB ballparks after yelling something about Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte's late mother during Tuesday night's game against the White Sox.

Same thing happened to a fan in Cleveland in April after he yelled at Jarren Duran about his suicide attempt. Don't know if the lifetime ban was just for that stadium or league-wide.

And I remember when ol' Busch Stadium II (1966-2005; was one of the early prototypes for Riverfront Stadium in Cincinatti) here in St. Louis got so hot and humid back in the early to mid 1990's that a player's cleats melted and got caught in the AstroTurf and he was seriously injured. And that was not the only time a player's cleats got caught in the AstroTurf, as reports of that go back to the 1970's. Not to mention some players had to be taken off the field due to heat, humidity, and lack of air circulation in those old multipurpose stadiums. These prompted the removal of AstroTurf from the field at Busch II back in 1996 and the building of Busch III. Hell, I remember going to games at Busch Stadium II during the 80's/90's/early 2000's and having to take a cold shower when I got home b/c it was so hot and humid.

You'd think that with the weather in St. Louis being what it is in the spring and summer (either very hot and humid, rainy, or both) you'd think people and the owners would have voted for the domed and/or retractable roof stadium that was presented as a possible Busch Stadium II (1966-2005) and Busch III. But no, they didn't b/c domed and retractable roof stadiums are too expensive. Similar could probably be said of some other cities where MLB teams are based in.
The San Francisco Giants never had that problem at Candlestick Park.

Mariners Stadium has a retractable roof and it can really affect the trajectory of the ball depending upon if the roof is opened or closed.
It's great for those late summer/early fall games when the weather is unsettled.
They can open or close it if it's raining during the game, so you don't have to worry about rain delays.

Red Sox pitcher Kutter Crawford out for the season due to an "off-field accident" which requires surgery on his throwing wrist. Team says it was nothing nefarious or stupid. Just one of those things that happens.

Try being in one of those stadiums with 98-105 degree heat (with heat indexes of 115+ degrees) and little to no wind blowing.

Fair enough, but it was never close to that at Candlestick. Cold and windy all the time.

The Red Sox are hating it right now, having just been swept by the Angels.

A couple of nights ago, Walker Buehler gave up 5 runs in the first inning: an HR on the first pitch, followed by a single, 4 walks, and 2 hit batters.

Not good.

The Cubs are really losing focus as a team the last couple weeks. But at least Shota Imanaga is back and in good form

Wander Franco guilty, gets two years suspended. So no further prison time unless he does something. MLB, however, can still throw their hammer at him.
