MLB 2025: The A's are Playing Where Now?

Manny Ramirez and Pedro Martinez aren't buying what the Red Sox front office is trying to sell about Devers.

If it wasn't for Judge, I wonder what Raleigh's chances would be at MVP. I wonder if the Mariners actually make the playoffs and he continues on this pace if he would be a lock for it despite Judge. He's having a hell of a year.

My local sports radio station this morning said that the Mariners pitcher and an umpire had to be helped off the field yesterday due to heat exhaustion.

That has been going around. There were a few stoppages in the Reds game because Elly De La Cruz and another guy had heat related issues. I wonder if MLB would delay a game because it is too hot. I'm glad I do not live in the midwest heat and humidity. I remember my first trip to San Antonio in 1999 was so sticky and not fun.

With Cal Raleigh having a career year, aren’t the Mariners obligated to waste it and miss the playoffs? They had an elite starting rotation last year and wasted it. Never made the playoffs during Felix Hernandez’s prime (or his entire career). Only made the playoffs in Ichiro’s first season. Couldn’t make the World Series with Griffey, Rodriguez, Martinez and Johnson on the same team.

If they’re still in contention at the trade deadline, I’m sure they will swing a big trade for…. Ty France.

Dominican prosecutors seek a five year sentence for Wander Franco.

Cleveland Browns say they'll be waiting for him in 2030.

And I remember when ol' Busch Stadium II (1966-2005; was one of the early prototypes for Riverfront Stadium in Cincinatti) here in St. Louis got so hot and humid back in the early to mid 1990's that a player's cleats melted and got caught in the AstroTurf and he was seriously injured. And that was not the only time a player's cleats got caught in the AstroTurf, as reports of that go back to the 1970's. Not to mention some players had to be taken off the field due to heat, humidity, and lack of air circulation in those old multipurpose stadiums. These prompted the removal of AstroTurf from the field at Busch II back in 1996 and the building of Busch III. Hell, I remember going to games at Busch Stadium II during the 80's/90's/early 2000's and having to take a cold shower when I got home b/c it was so hot and humid.

You'd think that with the weather in St. Louis being what it is in the spring and summer (either very hot and humid, rainy, or both) you'd think people and the owners would have voted for the domed and/or retractable roof stadium that was presented as a possible Busch Stadium II (1966-2005) and Busch III. But no, they didn't b/c domed and retractable roof stadiums are too expensive. Similar could probably be said of some other cities where MLB teams are based in.
