True, but also a lot of it actually got started back in the 1970's and 80's when owners like George Steinbrenner and Gussie Busch started getting involved in the day-to-day operations of the ball club. I mean Steinbrenner hired and then later fired Billy Martin like 4 or 5 times.
 
If Strasburg is the worst contract of all time and Rendon is second, is Kris Bryant third? He's been terrible and injured since he's been there. 80 games was his season high. If he never plays again, the Rockies will have paid him almost $3 million per RBI.

The 2016 team will live forever but the Cubs dodged some bullets by not signing a few of those stars. Of course they took one in the back of the head with Schwarber.
