MLB 2023 Season: Rangers are going hunting for Snakes

The Yankees have finally come out and said that Aaron Judge has a torn toe ligament, and his return this season is uncertain.

Can't wait for all the hot takes about "how can he make that much money and let a toe injury keep him out, what a baby" and whatnot.

From a Fantasy Baseball perspective, it took them long though. He's been riding my DL (Same with Rodon) for a while and the reasons were not really existent. I'm glad we're finally getting some clarity.

Judge was my first round pick in fantasy baseball this year. Acuna was my first round pick the season he got hurt. Maybe I should just start drafting in the second round.

In other news, I just learned about a Blue Jays catcher named Brian Milner who went straight to the majors right out of high school in 1978, playing two games and going 4-for-9 with 2 RBI and 3 runs. Then the next season he started out in the minors and never made it back.

Pity they just sent AJ Smith-Shawver back down so quickly. Despite his home run problem, he was pitching pretty well.

At least Soroka is coming back up and maybe this time he's got the magic back? Finally?

I know I'm like a broken record here, but Shohei Ohtani....

Last night: 6 1/3 innings, 1 earned run allowed. Struck out 10.

Went 3 for 3 at the plate, including 2 home runs.

He leads the Majors in Home Runs and RBI. He's 7-3 with a 3.02 ERA and is 3rd in Majors in Strike Outs.

What an absolute joy it is to watch him play.

Domingo German just threw a Perfect Game and a Maddux. I only saw the end, but based on the last three outs, the A's looked awful.

Starting lineups for the All-Star Game have been announced. The Rangers lead with four at C, 2B, SS and 3B. The Braves (C, SS, OF) and Dodgers (1B, OF, DH) each had three.

The Braves were five for five in the infield for the second round, which I thought was pretty astounding. Of course, I didn't expect them to get all five. Freeman and Arraez were going to win no matter what.

It always makes me wonder, what if... the DH had been in place when the Babe was playing?
