MLB 2021 season: Corn-Driven Humidity

If you don't mind my asking...why?

Because they simply aren’t that important. The handouts sports owners are looking for from local governments has simply gotten out of hand. If I want to see baseball, I can go to high school, college or the minor league team in Florence. Same goes for the NFL.

If these things are such great deals, owners need to use their own money or find private investors to pay for them. Local governments shouldn’t be paying for toys for rich people.

Because that's how Cincinnati chili (which, unlike Texas chili, is basically just a topping) is traditionally served. Either on spaghetti

Drained, inverted, w/ x-tra cheese for me and two coneys on the side

, but I'm more of a Gold Star guy nowadays.

So long as there aren't literal rivers of shit flowing through the clubhouse and dugouts, a 10,000 seat AAA park would be a step up for them.

Of course there's not a chance in hell of this ever happening, but if the A's are looking for a new home...they could always come here.

srsly, TD Ameritrade Park - which was built for the CWS - was made to be expandable to major league capacity if needed. And in fact we have actually had a couple major league regular season games (Tigers/Royals) here. All we'd really need to do to make it a permament home would be to add a new video board and maybe expand the upper deck.

But as I said, of course this will never actually happen. (I don't know if the Royals would complain, but probably not as much as the Giants did about San Jose.) But hey, just spitballin'.

And yeah, Omaha's not exactly a huge market, but those major league games were huge hits. Some of that was probably just for the novelty value, but I think we could make it work. Ah well, whatever, at least Creighton gets to use the place...

And just in case anyone was wondering...no, I'm really not 100% in love with the owners, or anything like that. I simply don't care who pays for the stadiums. If you want to care, that's fine...hey, you do you, Comrades. There are simply some battles that I prefer to let other people fight.

Nothing like a Skyline three-way or five or six cheese coneys after coming home drunk from the bar.

That just made my stomach do loops.

I've had Skyline chili once, when a co-worker and I drove across the entire state of Ohio (Dayton to Cincinnati to Columbus to Cleveland) in two days. I felt sick to my stomach for about twelve hours afterwards.

Just something we're born into in the Tri-State area. Our bodies spend decades getting used to it.

This would make a great alt thread: Ballpark Food-Fights.
