Definitely a plus. What is the ALCS goes 6 or 7 games? Does Washington get a little lazy?
Historically, the team coming into a series after a long time off is at a disadvantage against a team that played while they rested. Remember - baseball is an every day game. Playing 20 games in 21 days is quite common during the regular season.

Teams stumbling out of the gate after an extended break isn't a real thing, statistically speaking. After a 162-game season and a wild card game, a divisional series and a league championship series, everyone--especially the pitchers--likes the extra time off.

The ALCS will be interesting if it goes longer than five games, though. There's no travel day between Game 5 and Game 6, and New York to Houston isn't exactly a short flight. There's also a strong possibility the Yankees will have to do a bullpen game at some point.

LETS GO YANKEES!

Game 4, a must win for the great ones. I feel the good guys need to play some small ball like bunting and sacrificing for runners in scoring position. Encarnacion has to step up; he's a great hitter and its strong for him to be in such a batting slump, I think his time is due for some RBI hitting. Sanchez seems to fall short in the post season, and I'm not sure what is left to salvage with him but here's hoping he does something. Didi is another big time hitter who I believe will shine in the moment and Game 4 is that time. Tanaka had a masterful performance in Game 1 and I expect another one tonight... SO BRING IT ON!

@STEPhon IT, have you ever been to those exhibition games in Montréal that have been going on the past few years? They're in the old Olympic Stadium (where the Expos used to play) with the Blue Jays as the home team. Next year they play the Yankees. :)

Anyone thinking of going to the Angels has to wonder what is going on behind the scenes with the Skaggs story. Listening to Sportsnet radio up here in Toronto, they brought up a good point: if you had eight companies trying to court you for work and one of them had rumours of employees offering drugs to other employees and being investigated by authorities, would you want to go work there?

Considering Joe Maddon literally shrugged and said that he hadn't read the Addison Russell domestic abuse report, days after it came out, he's a perfect fit for the organization.

Dusty Baker has a second interview with the Phillies. Jake Arrieta's arm just twitched in response.

Though to be fair, Strasburg survived Dusty.

Are they really going to let Bryce pick the manager? makes sense I guess, he'll be there long after the GM is fired.

We're going to find out eventually that a LOT of teams have guys who go and get the players oxy and the like, anything to keep them playing.

Dusty is a mistake. He actually is a bad manager - in addition I think he is jinxed. He lost a World Series with a Giants juggernaut and completely mishandled the Steve Bartman fiasco. He actually poured gasoline on the Bartman fire rather than calming the situation down. The Cubs were still ahead after Bartman's faux pas and, having lost their collective minds, proceeded to commit blunder after blunder to lose that game.

If the Yankees lose tonight (or the series in general), it will be the first decade in the last 100 years in which they do not make the World Series.

In conclusion, fuck the Yankees.

In order for the Yankees to win this, they have to get past both Verlander and Cole in this series, which ain't happening.

As a BoSox fan, I’ll drink to that

As a Yankee hater, I have learned never say never when it comes to that team. Nothing that happens in the series will surprise me.
