Has Greinke been to the post-season? Was he good or did he pull a Darvish?

    In eleven starts, he’s 3-4 with a 4.03 ERA.

The Astros will win the next 20 world series in a row. They'll rename baseball to astroball.

Houston city hall still hasn't decided what to do with that old rust bucket, so it sits there and makes more rust. It would now officially cost more to renovate it for something usable that it would be to level it.

In Syracuse, the main train line use to bisect the city and really cut off the northern part of the city from the main southern part. So they rerouted the train about 4 miles north and made the old trackway into a new highway. However they left the old elevated train station with some art installations on the concourse intact, this happen in the 60's. Fast forward to a few years back, the city never really kept up the train station and it was starting to deteriorate rapidly and they were afraid something may happen. So they looked into finally removing it, however they were shocked to learn that it would cost something like 14 million to remove or just 6 million to repair and push it on down the trail to someone elses responsibility. So that's what they did, the spent the money to just repair it enough to last another 20 years and it will have to be addressed again.

Ban Clint Hurdle from the Game and the hit by pitches probably drop by 70 percent.

MLB is still reviewing the tape of Tuesday night's kerfuffle in Cincinnati, but the final tally of ejections was:

Reds: manager David Bell, Amir Garrett, Yasiel Puig, and bench coach Freddie Benavides
Pirates: Trevor Williams, Chris Archer, Kyle Crick, and Francisco Cervelli, who got ejected for participating while on the IL

He appears to have had enough.

Joe Torre has handed out the suspensions for Tuesday night's Pirates/Reds brawl:

    Pittsburgh:
    • Keone Kela: 10 games
    • Jose Osuna: 5 games
    • Kyle Crick: 3 games
    • Clint Hurdle: 2 games
    Cincinnati:
    • Amir Garrett: 8 games
    • David Bell: 6 games
    • Yasiel Puig: 3 games
    • Jared Hughes: 3 games
Meanwhile, TribLive sports columnist Tim Benz isn't having any of this shit...

He probably got a longer suspension because Pittsburgh has been throwing at Dietrich all season. Clint Hurdle only getting two games off is the real joke.

My old grumpy pants says fuck them all and suspend them all for far longer. I'm so fucking sick of this unwritten beaner bullshit.

Vince Velasquez recorded an outfield assist in tonight’s Phillies-White Sox contest, throwing out Jose Abreu at the plate. This has been a weird stretch of games.

5 years ago today, Javy Baez hit his first ML home run, albeit in Colorado. Unsurprisingly it was an opposite field shot.

Since then he's third on the Cubs in hits, homers, RBI and runs. First in stolen bases and (probably) strikeouts, but you get 100% every freakin' play of every freakin' game.

I'm glad Detroit didn't take him in 2017, even when he swings at 3 consecutive 59 foot pitches.

August seems a bit duller without the waiver trade deadline.

This is just GREAT! The Cubs send Willson Contreras and Craig Kimbrel to the IL. Enough with Illinois already goddammit!

Well, at least it was a knee injury for Kimbrel instead of being arm related...
