Mix and Match your Crew

So Captain you have been given command of a new Starship. Mix and match the main character crew members from all the series at your pleasure with a brief explanation of why. Keep in mind this is your crew and not intended as an attempt to find the 'best' of the best. Feel free to promote people as you see fit. Also feel free to stick semi-main characters in as non-aligned.

1st Officer: Commander Spock-Spock is my favorite TOS character, and very strong in Science and Diplomacy.

Operations Officer: Lt. Commander Data: Data has always been an interesting character to me. He would be very useful as he is synthetic and his banter is a riot at parties!

Tactical Officer: Wes Crusher-I think a good bang for your buck. I know many people hate Wes but I think he is an interesting fellow.

Chief Engineer: Torres-She comes up with creative solutions and shes rather unbalanced at times, two things I like.

Science Officer: 7 of 9-She is so blunt and lacks the social graces, would be another interesting party guest in Ten Forward!

Doctor: Julian Bashier-I relate to this fellow, seems to be good in social situation, maybe he could charm 7.

Random Ensign 1: Nog-Seems good at getting things

Non-Aligned 1: Garek-He is so delightfully devious and ascerbic.

Non-Aligned 2: Kurn-He is so into being Klingon, I love it!

Operations Officer: Kim - I'd give him a job. Everyone else wants Data.
Tactical Officer: Reed - Most competent out of the Enterprise crew.
Engineer: La Forge - Knows how to get out of engineering in a hurry...
Science Officer: Spock - He knows enough to be a good plot explainer, and I need a Vulcan.
Doctor: Bashir- His genetic enhancments would help him defend sickbay, and he has a rather good bedside manner
Security: Odo - After all that experience on DS9, keeping security on a starship would be child's play
Helm: Paris - Best pilot in Starfleet.
Communications: Uhura - Would easily keep me in touch with Starfleet.
Counselor: Ezri Dax - She's a great counselor

Extras: Jake Sisko- A reporter's always useful to send news of my great deeds to the Federation
Garak- Need I explain?

XO: Jadzia Dax - I think the XO has a tougher job than the CO. The Captain gives the orders and has the greatest responsibility but it's the XO that actually runs the ship. You need a seriously well-rounded person there and I'm not talking about waste-line! The XO supervises the department heads so he/she needs a good general knowledge of everyone's job. The XO needs good people-management skills and should have good inter-personal skills as well. He/she obviously needs to have a good command presence. People should naturally respect the XO because they feel that person has earned it. Finally, the XO needs to be fully capable of serving as Captain and needs to be able to stand up to the Captain when warranted.

I can think of nobody I would rather have than Jadzia. She's got so much knowledge and experience as well as the perspective that comes from that. She is a great role-model and teacher with a lot to share.

Operations Officer: Harry Kim - He was a largely-dull character but I like his competence, eagerness and open-mindedness. I also think he would benefit greatly from having Jadzia as a mentor.

Doctor: Julian Bashir - He can be a pain in the ass but he's so good at what he does and he's not a kiss-ass.

Science Officer: Seven of Nine - She would be a dream in this position (and other "positions" which shall remain nameless). Her knowledge and intellect are second to none.

Chief Engineer: Sonya Gomez - Very bright and eager to please. I could see her and Harry as chums because of their shared enthusiasm to excel. Like Harry, I could see her benefiting greatly from Jadzia's tutelage.

Helm: Tom Paris - I really don't like the character very much but he's a natural pilot. He's a bit undisciplined for my taste but once again, I think Jadzia would handle him well.

Tactical/Security: Elizabeth Shelby - She's a good balance between the fire of Worf, Tasha and Kira and the level-headed sense and intelligence of Tuvok. I'm assuming a younger Shelby than the one we saw in Best of Both Worlds but even then, I can see her being a somewhat destabilizing element among the senior crew. There's something to be gained by having a hothead stirring things up though. I imagine a bit of a friction between her and Jadzia and a kinship with Paris.

Bartender/Councilor: Guinan - Obviously. She's a big help when your senior staff includes Shelby and Paris and it sure doesn't hurt to have someone around who's familiar with the Borg and the Q and who is sensitive to changes in the space/time continuum.

1st Officer-Riker, although I love chakotay, riker walked like john wayne and he was had more leeway to make decisions.


Science Officer- Jaxdea Dax is the best science officer cause she has had eight or whatever lifetimes, several in starfleet, so she knows her stuff, its important to have a vast amount of knowledge when from every aspect of life in order to understand the complexity of science

Security Officer- Odo, is awesome, a shape changing security officer, sadly his biggest adversary was a ferangi who was almost as dumb as his brother rom. Odo knows everything, because he can be everything.....now im rambling


Tactical officer - tuvok, he was a strong smart man that logically thought through all possiblities and made the choice best for the crew.

Chief Engineer - Wow this is a toss up between tores and jordy, im going to have to go with jordy becuase his spectural eye peice can see descrepencies in the warp core and other engineering aspects. He is very useful for imformation they would normally not get to know.


Chief Medical-The Doctor/EMH -- I love this guy, hes a smart as*, he knows his stuff, and he cant die, he can go anywhere with his mobile emitter(as long as it isnt damaged) and not be hurt. Thats a doctor I would want on my side, with gigowatts of imformation in the medical field.

Operations Officer-Data -- Enough said


Counselor -- diana troy(although sometimes she wasnt a very good actor) she was part betazoid and could read when anyone was lying or hiding something. That useful for reading different species.
Ezri Dax was a horrible actor by the way, bad counselor and bad actor....
Helm- although ensign welsly krusher is promising for this position tom paris is my choice, hes a hotty, and he has intuition, i love a rebel, and hes the best pilot starfleet has ever seen...


'Extra'- miles o brian -- i love the accent, and his wife and kids are the best way to see that starfleet officers can actaully have a family. miles is the best.
