Missy rumor (possible spoiler)

I was always impressed that Baker and Ainley managed to replicate the same tension filled "vibe" in Logopolis that Pertwee and Delgado had on past occasions when the Master and Doctor had to work together for the common good. They must have watched some old tapes or something in preparation.
We'll see if Capaldi and Gomez can do the same.

Baker and Ainley had worked together in the previous story, but really I never got that vibe from the foruth Doctor and Ainely's Master.

Well I guess this is where me and Doctor Who part ways. It was fun while it lasted. More or less.

Yeah...as fun as she was in the final episode last year, a whole SEASON of psycho-female-Mistress? Nah, don't like it. A two-parter, sure. But don't put her on as a companion for the whole run.

It's hard to remember that Ainley isn't a vicious murderous sociopath, just like the character he played.

Of all the Doctor Who actors that I'm sad that I will never be able to meet, Ainley is right at the top of my list with Jon Pertwee. :( By all accounts, Ainley was a great gentleman and seemed especially fond of Doctor Who.

Can't remember if was posted in here or in his Wiki Entry that Ainley was independently wealthy so he didn't need to work and yes took the role as the Master becasue he wanted to.

He must've been fond of it because by the accounts I've heard, he actually paid to appear in DW. Not sure how that works exactly!

That sounds extremely unlikely, especially with a publicly-owned broadcaster like the BBC. It would be almost like bribing producers. I'm sure Equity would have rules against it.

Unless it's an end around?

"Oh! Anthony is working with us this week, he always buys lunch for the crew, lets dump the catering budget straight into the special effect budget."

It doesn't - that's basically... bollocks. Though I think he did an interview way back when, in which he did an "I'd pay good money to..." kind of line. But, no, it didn't actually happen.

IIRC, they included that on one of the DVD documentaries. I think it was either Peter Davison or Sophie Aldred that said it.
