Missing 32" Enterprise finally found...

I just saw an item on Trekcore about the upcoming Comic Con. Rod will be bringing the model and displaying it. He's calling it the 33" model, so I'll step back while all you boffins start fighting over the length.;)

I'm having anxiety just thinking about transport!
Help me out here. I recall an anecdote from the 1970s in which the Klingon battle cruiser filming model was taken on an airliner. Its head was sticking out of the person's carry on bag, and other passengers immediately recognized it.

It was either D.C. Fontana or Matt Jefferies who had this experience. I can't remember.

A 24” x 36” poster covered with silhouettes of ships many of which had never been seen before is an exact expression of that kind of thinking.
Hmmm... that sounds familiar, but I'm having a hard time picturing it.

Anyways, it would be nice if the restoration eventually matched my model...

... which was aimed at replicating how it looked in December of 1968, but that might require more restoration than they are planning.

Of course no one has asked me anything about the model, so I'll just sit back and watch what happens with it.

Gary Kerr just shared a video on Favebook from Rod Roddenberry’s Facebook page showing them working on the 33 incher. And inside the nacelles they found wiring and a tiny bulb in each of the nacelles!

Wow! Interesting. So it seems originally the warp engines on the 33 incher were supposed to light up, but they never used it. That goes along with the idea the nacelle domes on the fullsize Galileo shuttlecraft were also originally planned to be lighted, but they didn’t go through with that either.

Gary Kerr shared this video off Rod Roddenberry’s FB page so I’m inclined to think it’s legit and not AI fakery. Incredible if indeed true because it would mean learning yet something new and unknown about TOS after all these years.

Can't find the video. Social media stinks. Do you have a link?

Probably done when the model was modified to match the changes to the 11 footer. The lamp stand and the wires at the bottom spoke to this.

This is Rod Roddenberry’s FB page. If you scroll down a bit you should easily see the video. Note there’s more than one video on cleaning of the 33 incher.

Direct link. It may ask you to log in, but you can just close that dialog to see the video.

Given YOU have decided to link that video, I'm more inclined to believe it's legit. Otherwise, I'd have a lingering doubt, that this might be some prompted AI footage as it grows frighteningly more convincing as time passes.

Well, it fits with the available evidence and is consistent with their other videos.

I winced more when he was removing the saucer than when Vance Norris’ head was detaching to get away from the flamethrower in Carpenter’s 82’ film.

I’m too little to watch that—I’ma have nightmares…
