Dear sir,Whole story is now up at Trek world.
Look at the desk drawer it's sitting on top of. There's no way that model is almost three feet long, unless the Phase II model was being built in a workshop for giants. So, the three-foot model was never sent to Brick Price Miniatures for reference on Phase Two? One of the comments on that video states that the small model seen here is an AMT one.

I can see it. You're a busy man, you get things done by trusting and delegating, then some time goes by. I can see forgetting all kinds of details, and that goes double if your mind gets foggy now and then. GR had a love affair with pot before he ever tried cocaine.I've always thought there was something fishy about Roddenberry's "I forgot who I gave it to" line. Admittedly, he was an addict and an alcoholic at the time, but this seems like an odd piece of data to just forget.
VERY interesting reading!!!
The hologram is across town from me? Dude!FactTrek's article revealing what really happened to the 32" model is now up:

The Lost Voyage of the Small Enterprise Model — FACT TREK
Guest Article by Star Trek Lost Scenes co-authour David Tilotta. Sometime before the premiere of Star Trek—The Motion Picture, the original 33-inch miniature of the USS Enterprise was loaned out … and vanished for almost 45 years. When it surfaced in 2023 many asked who had it and why? Star Trekwww.facttrek.com
It's fascinating to learn what the model was loaned out for, although the ultimate purpose of the thing it was used to create was kind of petty and it's a shame it was lost for decades as a result of it. But at least now we basically know how it got from Roddenberry's desk to that storage locker.
Wonder if the folks who bought the storage locker got a “finders” fee
Hmm. Looks like the first-generation AMT model kit is not the only Enterprise model that suffers from nacelle-sag.Or, tune in next week for the exciting conclusion of:
"Star Trek: Missing 32" Enterprise Finally Found" ???

Well that’s weird. Why sue the auction house? The auction house did the legally required due diligence to determine rightful ownership and that they were not dealing in stolen merchandise. They were supposed to, but the finders changed their mind about signing the paperwork and instead decided to sue the Auction House middle man.
