Misfits Series 3

Bob The Skutter

Complete Arse Cleft
In Memoriam
Misfits series 3 has just started on E4 right now. Meant to post earlier but went to see Paranormal Activity 3.

Back and as good as ever. I didn't miss Nathan for a moment and actually like the new guy(s) a lot.

They really need to stop killing everyone though - those two girls could have stuck around a bit longer!

I liked the way they're so blasé about the deaths and shallow graves though.
Thought it was brilliant as ever but not too sure on the new powers. I can see how Alisha and Simon's powers are handy. I suppose Rudy's too, but Kelly and Curtis?

So they all got new powers and once again none of them have 'active/combat' type powers. Which I guess if they did get something that could be used offensively it would have shifted the tone/balance of the show.

I'm kind of mixed on the new guy. I wonder when Nathan will return and the new guy dies so we can have a quip from him about there only being room for one sarcastic wise-cracking wanker in their group.

Not really sure what Curtis power is. Is it something like he reverts to what would have been a female version of himself by making him XX instead of XY?

I was under the impression that Nathan was pretty much gone for good, and that the most we can ever hope for is him to do a guest spot in some future series, when (and if) the others ever get around to taking the Vegas trip pictured in that photo of Simon and Alisha, which belonged to future-Simon, and presumably has yet to happen.

They all went to Vegas, Simon and Alisha have had the trip. Nathan decided to stay to try and scam the system.

I'm loving the irony of Kelly now having the intellect of a rocket scientist, but all she can do with her power is design rockets. No wonder the previous owner got rid of it. :) I'd suspect that as with the other powers we've seen here, she'll be the real brains of the group once she gets over herself.

She could make good money as a mechanic in a garage.

Then, chemistry + physics + engineering + practical application..

That's MacGyver.

Hell.

That's Reed Richards or Doctor Doom.

That kid from No Ordinary Family used his super intellect surprisingly well and with some flair.

Kelly has to go back to school and pretend to learn everything she already knows.

The ultimate con.

I've missed this show so much.

Sad to see Nathan go, but at least the actor was nice enough to film the "Vegas" short.

And his power was pretty badass, although he still has no clue how to use it effectively.

Kelly's my new favorite with Nathan gone, and Simon's On Deck. Alisha might be next, and then maybe Rudy, but poor Curtis. I just don't like his character at all.

Simon Byrd ripped the actor a new one for impersonating Hiro off Heroes on The King is Dead.

Bring back the old lady who turned into a teenager.

Maybe Nathan knocked her up?

I really liked her on Sirens.

Oh she died, didn't she?

Hmm. Don't remember that. The fact that it's already happened, however, and isn't a set up for some future event, makes it even a little less likely that we'll be seeing Nathan again.

BTW, when did this trip happen? Presumably, after they got their new powers, which didn't happen until the very end of the Christmas Special, and (iirc) we didn't even get a chance to see what any of their new powers actually were. With what those new powers might be treated as a kind of cliff-hanger.

So... when did this trip happen? Was there a tag sequence of the trip at the end of the Xmas show, which I somehow missed? Or another special that aired sometime after that? A webisode? What?

The trip was a between series thing. The Nathan webisode is supposed to be Nathan stayed behind to try and scam more money after they went home. I'm sure Simon mentioned they'd finally had their trip together in the first episode.

Yea I googled for the short and watched it and I would say it takes place some time after the 1st episode of this series 3. Since when Nathan calls Simon's cell-phone Rudy picks up and they're at the youth center (Simon and the gang being back to working community service).

Hopefully that means there's a chance they might meet up with Nathan this season (or I guess after this season). Nathan's new power looks a lot more useful (money wise) than his previous power... Of course being Nathan he mucks it up.

It never occurred to him that he could make gold or diamonds.

Find a government or a terrorist and he could make them uranium 232 by the ton.

The call happens right at the end of episode one. You can see that Rudy is left in the changing room, with the cell phone at the exact same place (on the bench at the left side of the screen.) They just don't show it ringing.

I don't really like Rudy (the new guy), I found the first episode of the new series quite dull because of how prominently featured he was.

I had a weird moment of fridge logic after it was revealed that Curtis could have periods in his female form. What if Curtis was to get pregnant in his female form and then change back? Would the pregnancy end or would he be trapped in female form? Would he even be able to get pregnant or would the pregnancy continue even in his male form?!

I think the new powers are pretty anti-climatic and Rudy's ability is pretty crappy and cliched - One side is his good, vulnerable and emotional side, whilst the other is his bad, assholey and cold side.

I'm getting used to Rudy. He isn't the same as Nathan, he just seems to be even more twattish, which is quite a nice balance, because all the rest of the main characters are too nice, really.

Second episode of the series was utterly brilliant though (and I'm not just saying this because of the lesbian scene ;)). Curtis episodes always deliver, because he always seems to get the really high-concept powers. :D

No word on tonights episode? Ok then, i'll dive right in.

WOW. wow. That was an amazingly entertaining 45 minutes of TV. And finally, the show embraces the "superhero" aspect of having powers (well, moreso than it did last season with future simon and what have you) by introducing the supervillain. In doing so, I felt it provided one of the most original and well done superhero stories in a long time. And did you see the trailer for next week? That just looks beyond insane. Nazi's? Whaaaaa?

The broker/dealer is looking for time travel to save his girlfriend, so I'm not sure why what Curtis had didn't fit the pinch, or he's looking for straight resurrection powers... Meanwhile "Barry" is looking for a way to get to the past to save Alicia and, this should go without saying but whensoever you create a time travel story it somehow involves building V2 plus Rockets for the NAZIs, and fuck me but isn't one of them now a rocket scientist?
