I was thinking we might have a Swans vs. Penguins tie-breaking vote, and add a bit of information about our respective birds (I don't mean an essay, just a sentence or two of whatever it is you find most interesting about your birds).

Both are absolutely fascinating, and one of the things I enjoy about avatar contests is when we're told a little about the entry - what/who it's about, as often a picture can be interesting, funny, cute, lovely... but the 1000 words it's worth aren't quite there.

As the contest runner, it is your choice how to proceed. If I may share an alternate viewpoint, though... the previous contest ended March 27. It is now June 5. It just seems like maybe this one doesn't really need to be stretched out that much longer.

As I mentioned, I have an idea already, and would be ready to go with it this weekend. But the idea is also tied in to something else, and is therefore time-specific. However, please note I am certainly not trying to pressure you into ceding, or anything like that. If you don't want to do that, then I am certainly happy to cede this one to you instead.

Again, if you want a tie-breaker vote, it's totally your choice. But if I'm being honest, my reason for including a swan image didn't really involve much beyond "they look graceful and pretty".

Might be back someday, though, in which case I would appreciate people not arguing if I ask for non-animated avatars. I've explained my reasons and that should be good enough.
