Standard avatar contest rules apply: maximum image size of 200 x 200 pixels, and a maximum file size of 1 MB. And of course the entries must be SFW. Images from news (including entertainment news) and documentary programs are OK, but no other media images.

So for us in the northern hemisphere it is a longest day today --- for those of us in the southern hemisphere it is the longest nite. But- what does that mean-- why is that important? As it is the beginning of summer or winter -- it is the end of spring here or the end of fall down there. And why is this change so dag important -? (or not important?) is there something you go to on this day. for me I look to the exact time of this the apex of the sun ... just a few hours ago -- mmm it is 3:57am monday morning and it was at (copy - paste). --- this means plus 12 and minus 1 hours from this time has the most sun today--

Summer solstice 2021 in Northern Hemisphere was at 11:31 PM on
Sunday, June 20
All times are in Eastern Time.

so where were you --- or --- do you think about this? or what does this remind you of? --- this is wide open and I think.. the more distant the associations that are imaged here will be the better ones.. --- I will allow 2 entries one northern one southern --- :) and yeah here we go-- I might do something mmmmm later on --- after my root canal today-(edit could not wait)

OK a neat Association would be linking the solstice back to father's day that it happened on father’s day here in the states--- I did not think to make the contest about fathers day-- as I am working with healing myself around my father and his actions to me as a child. --- so yeah that is me --- but a solstice father's day avatar is totally acceptable and mmmm Has my vote-

And this one is just because I thought it looked cool:

I don't actually know if this one would count as a "southern" entry or not, but hopefully it's OK. If not, let me know.

Matariki which rises shortly after the winter solstice [Think can decide if it's eligible]. In the Māori language, Matariki is both the name of the Pleiades star cluster and also of the season of its first rising in late June or early July. This is a marker of the beginning of the new year.
