Obviously, I voted, too.

And I really regret limiting the entries to three, as I had a hard time choosing, so I got some alternatives. But, as opposed to my usual posting of alternatives, I'll give some identification and background on the subjects.

So first off, I had made my own Wes Studi avatar before @auntiehill beat me to the punch:

This is, obviously, from the ceremony where he got the Academy Honorary Award


I also had an alternative avatar for Jessica Matten:

I really recommend her show "Tribal"

Next up is Ogilasa, better known as Joseph Red Shirt:

Aside from the obvious name appeal to a Trekkie, he was a chief of the Oglala Lakota, Native Scout for the US Army, and a member of Buffalo Bill's Wild West show, with which he travelled to England and heavily influenced the European perception of the Plains Indians.

Then, of course, is the famous Sitting Bull:

The chief of the Hunkpapa Lakota's vision inspired the Lakota tribes, along with the Northern Cheyenne, to fight for victory in the Battle of the Little Bighorn, aka the Battle of the Greasy Grass, against the 7th Cavalry under General Custer.

The great-great-granddaughter of Sitting Bull, and a very impressive leader in her own right, is Brenda White Bull:

White Bull spoke before the United Nations against the Dakota Access pipeline and the violence committed against protesters:

And finally, Sacheen Littlefeather:

The Apache actress and activist, on behalf of Marlon Brando, declined the Oscar for Best Actor in protest of Hollywood's portrayal of Native Americans and to draw attention to the Wounded Knee Occupation.
