Hi people,

I had this idea for a relatively ambitious contest theme, visualizing sound. By that I mean images that you instantly associate with a certain sound, like hearing it in your head looking at the image. That, obviously, is a bit subjective, so I'll make it a long leash.

The usual rules apply, 150x150 pixels / 140 kb maximum size, no media, and for this particular theme, no animated entries, only still images.

I try to make it 5 days to enter, but don't hold me to that when it'll be 6 in the end.

Wow! This one sounds really interesting...and different. You mean, something like, looking at a picture of a train and, in your mind, you can just hear the whistle?

Can't wait to see these entries...:D

Darn it. I had a perfect animated one for this. Oh well. I have this one, instead.

Well, yeah. I don't really immediately associate the train with the whistle, but like I said in the OP, this is very subjective, and if the image of a train is enough for you to hear the whistle, it would absolutely qualify.

Did you know that if you Google "gong" you get pictures of girls giving head to Popsicles? Probably only people my age know why.

That reminds me of back in the late 1990's hwne I was searching for the websites of companies that handle newspaper comics. Imagine my surprise over the resutls I got when I searched "comic strips".....

I'm pretty sure everyone who lived in the 80s was issued one by default. You didn't even know how it was purchased or who set it up. One day it would just appear there on your nightstand in working order, it's flashing red lights and piercing alarm mocking your attempts at restful sleep, cruelly toying with your dreams like the Oneiroi of Greek myth. Watching, waiting...
