Hi all, sorry about the delay in getting the new contest started. I had intended to have it up on Monday, but inspiration took a little longer to strike than I had originally hoped!

I'm not from Toronto myself, but something that has been all over the news lately is the visit by a giant rubber ducky to Toronto's harbourfront for the Redpath Waterfront Festival on Canada Day weekend. Apparently the duck was a big hit, drawing large crowds over the weekend.

So our theme for this week's contest is oversized versions of things. Note that this doesn't mean things that are just naturally large. Rather it is for large representations of things that are normally smaller. Think along the lines of those roadside tourist attractions, such as the Big Nickel in Sudbury, Ontario.

Standard avatar rules apply: maximum dimensions of 200 x 200, and maximum file size of 1 MB. Generally no media images, but images from news sources are OK. Contest will be open for about a week.

Here we go:

This giant cow was originally the mascot of a restaurant on Route 18 on the way to my Mother's house. Then it went missing for a while, and was returned. It might have been beheaded. I forget the story. Anyway, for a long time it was living in this enclosure on the side of Route 18 and I got a few pictures of it before it disappeared.

I'm not sure, because I don't remember the incident clearly. I may be combining two stories and this cow might have just been vandalized or tipped over or something. Strangely, I can't find anything online. Probably a massive cover up.
