So those of us in the northern hemisphere are currently in the middle of summer. And around here, it's been hot. And judging by the "what's your current weather" thread, it's not just here, it's been very hot in many different regions. Now, some of us don't mind this, and in fact have waited impatiently through an extended winter just to get here. But maybe others of us don't appreciate it quite so much.

So our theme for this contest is all about heat. Your entry can be a location where it's often hot, or something that generates heat, or the effects of excessive heat on the environment. Please note that this contest is specifically temperature related... despite other usages of the word "hot", this contest is not looking for entries of people you deem attractive, so anything along those lines will be excluded from the poll (and may be removed if they are in violation of Google image standards... so don't do it!)

Usual Misc avatar contest rules apply: no media images, and maximum size should be 200 x 200 pixels and 1 MB. The contest will be open for about a week.

To start us off... ever worked in a pizza place? Or, you know, just walked inside one? Then you know those ovens throw off copious amounts of heat.

Sand can really be very (pleasantly) hot.

at my town they have an ingenious way to deal with the heat: we have our own beach in the middle of the market place. It's basically a huge sandbox with potted palms around and with parasols and canvas chairs. Everyone who is tired from shopping can take a rest there. Kids can play and since there's a fountain right next to it they can even build sandcastles. It's a pedestrian zone, so that there's no danger from cars.
