Mirror says New Console Room for Smith

Yeah, I just found that online somewhere. I seem to remember it being referred to as "The Tertiary Control Room" (in line with The Secondary Control Room from T.Baker's era). I've always assumed the Paul McGann console room was one of the auxiliary console rooms like that one (and the one pictured). It's overall structure was decidedly different than what I wold picture as a redesigned main console room...

The world of Trek used the holodeck many times.
And this is a good thing that should be emulated how?

I'm not saying it should be emulated or copied. As far as I'm concerned, The holodeck was the copy and the TARDIS was the original and very different from the holodeck. I think the holodeck was overused and did have some bad episodes centered around it. The TARDIS and its rooms are a living entity and share a link with the Doctor. That being said, IMHO I think there are a number of ideas that could be used to write a episode centered somewhere in the TARDIS. We have had four seasons of Doctor Who since it has been brought back, and it would be nice to have an episode explore unknown areas of the TARDIS. :)

Well, while I'm still partial to the McGann console room, anything will be better than this Dalek self-flagellation that started with Nine. It'll be nice to look at a TARDIS interior that doesn't look like the word "EXTERMINATE" should be echoing through it.

I, on the other hand, adore the current TARDIS interior, never saw any connection to the Daleks whatsoever, and will be quite sad if it's significantly changed.

I like it, especially the patched together console and it does look very alien to me. But ever since the 1996 movie I've always hoped that the more magical elements would be kept around.

That set had more 'wow' to it, though it would be illogical to have something of that size considering it's barely seen on TV now.

Okay, the bottom half of a Dalek: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/medialibrary/s1/images/main-promo/s1_13_wal_08.jpg

If you envision it from the inside, it doesn't even vaguely resemble the walls of the console room for you?

McGann looks cool in that link. Nothing more, just saying.

I REALLY hope we get to see McGann's Doctor again someday. It just doesn't seem right that there's an incaration of the Doctor who's only been seen in one televised story.

Hopefully Moffat will be a little more open to the crossover idea and think about bringing him back for an episode...

I can see what you're talking about, but I still just don't see the TARDIS interior as being Dalek-ish. This may just be because that TARDIS interior was my first TARDIS interior -- the same way the Ninth Doctor was my first Doctor -- but I just don't look at the TARDIS console room and think, "Dalek."

The roundels have always (generally) been there through the history of the show. It's the current era's coloring that gives it similarity to modern Daleks. Back in "the day", the roundels were white, and the Dalek bumps were black (mostly). So, it's only in this era I see the similarity.

Perhaps in the Classic Era, the white roundels were supposed to represent "good" and the black Dalek bumps "evil", but because of The Doctor's involvement, sacrifice, and trauma from The Time War, the current interior represents a darker shade of grey in the life of the Time Lord?

(LOL! ;) )

Dunno about that but it does explain the inside the TARDIS belonging the Rani (did we ever see inside the Master's TARDIS in the later years?

I was joking in an 'over-analyzing-fan' kind of way.

But, I don't understand your post. Are you saying that him having a different interior now explains why the Rani's interior looked so radically different than what we had previously been exposed to? Clarify, please. And The Master's TARDIS was just like The Doctor's...only completely black. Yeah, I know...

Like you wasn't being overly serious but referring the the inside of the Rani's TARDIS being black because she was evil - white -Doctor - good/black - Rani - evil.

I couldn't remember the inside of the Master's TARDIS.

Ah, gotcha! So, Doctor/White/Good, Master/Black/Evil, Rani/Grey/Morally Ambiguous? Works for me... :techman:
