Miranda Class Navigational Deflector Component Visible...?

...As we have never really seen a Miranda at warp, up close, we might even argue that those ventral things open up in flight, for an improved view forward, and possibly even start glowing blue!

Bow shots of Constellations at warp are similarly nonexistent - for all we know, the brief jump in "Peak Performance" didn't even involve deflector use. And we know from ST:TMP already that TOS movie era deflectors can be "off" and darkened when not in use. So basically the ships from that era are the easiest to rationalize or interpret in this respect. (Which means that the one design standing out from the rest is the TOS ship herself, the only one to definitely lack a blue glow in some forward component we could claim as the deflector!)

That's the beauty of the ambiguity of the older series. Since the navigational deflectors weren't explicitly shown (just spoken of) we can speculate an all-around coverage that works at warp and sublight and doesn't need to look specifically like anything or even if it needs to glow to indicate that it's been powered up.
