Minisodes?

It was announced that since Discovery is going to miss the original September date for Season two, 4 "minisodes" are being made between Sep-Dec to "bridge the gap" until January. Has there been any substantial info on these or a date when the Sep. edition is to air? I assume they are all flashback/background stories since season two will most likely pick up immediately from the final moments of "Will You Take My Hand" with the appearance of the Enterprise, leaving no room in-between.

What we know is that the four focus on Saru, Tilly, Mudd, and an original character.
AFAIK nothing has been said about "air" dates aside from that we'll get one per month.

I'll probably resub to CBSAA a week before the season two premiere and watch all four in one go as a sort of episode 0.

Kurtzman said they start in December at Comic-Con.
The official press release only said they'd be starting in the 'Fall'.

Fall ends on December 21st, so as long as they start before then, the press release will still be correct.

I don't remember exactly where I read it (Trekcore I believe) but I came away with the impression that it was one minisode for each month that Discovery was delayed, thus I deduced they would start in September. Maybe it would be at the start of October with the last one at the start of January with the series starting at month's end?

Hey I grew up there!

But they never spend any time on the backstory of the secondary characters. amirite?

CBS can't possibly think that many Trekkies will sign up to All Access months before Season 2 premiers just for one 15-minute short per month.

TrekCore just regurgitated the press release which only said Fall.

I don't remember ever hearing a September date...…….

Hm, I guess you folks are right. Hollywood Reporter said, "The series will launch in the fall and roll out monthly, helping to keep awareness of Discovery high before its return in January 2019," which would lean one to infer Sept.-Oct.-Nov.-Dec., but I can't find any hard evidence.

Also, Deadline says, the stories "will roll out monthly beginning in December to tie Trekkies over until Discovery‘s Season 2 premiere in January," which, uh, doesn't actually make any sense.

I think they're actually supposed to play weekly through December.

Since when was Disco "delayed" till 2019? Weren't they talking about how season 2 could not be ready until 2019 even before they were actually picked up for season 2?

Ugh, Deadline has become such an embarrassing site. I can't remember the last time I read anything on there that wasn't riddled with mistakes and these kinds of nonsensical statements. They used to do actual reporting, now they just add typos to press releases and post that.

Thinking back to Battlestar Galactica, the weekly webisodes worked as a build-up to Season 3. Weekly would work better with Discovery too. 15 minutes per month is just too little. So it's just as well if they don't premiere until December.

I was/am hoping that it would be weekly because $10 for 15 min a month is just not worth it, esp considering that I can binge them just before the 'real' show starts. But 15 min a week I think I can justify to myself.

About the Deadline headline: Has CBS officially said that DIS will be airing in January? If not, that headline could still be right...ugh, that would suck.
