As far as Obsidian goes, I just gave up mining the stuff. If I need it, I'll just build a frame, fill it with lava, and pour a bucket of water over the top.
Personally, I'm at a loss for what to do next. And with the interactive map dead, I can't see where anyone has built anything new to go and check out. With such a large map, it's would be difficult if not impossible to find anything without it.
While I liked the dynamic map, I wouldn't mind just a daily or weekly rendered image or set of images. The ones you have linked in the thread on your forum are severely out of date.Personally, I'm at a loss for what to do next. With the most recent snapshot (13w05a), any idea what the point of having 8 different heights of snow per block is? Of all the things that people have asked for as a feature, I can't say I've ever heard of this one.
