Milan Cortina Olympics

Three OT games in Hockey today. I think I read something where this was the first time that happened in the Quarter Finals. I wish Czechia had pulled it off so Macklin Celebrini would have a week to rest and heal up for the resumption of the NHL season. Also, Congrats to Shiffren for winning gold. Both were great runs.

US Womens Hockey team won the gold medal. It was kind of a sloppy OT, but they were the best team all tournament.

Both teams played very well. I was especially impressed at how long the Canadian team had shut out the Americans for most of the game. That said, I was rooting for the Canadian team.

Big win today for Team USA in figure skating! Alysa Liu's stunning performance, combined with her energy, charisma, and nonchalant demeanor, won her a gold medal, the first Olympic gold win since 2002 for the U.S. in women's skating.

I was going to ask how luge team relay could even work. Then I looked it up. And it's more bizarre than I could have imagined.

Be that as it may, I saw the US/Switzerland women's curling nail-biter last night, from somewhere in the middle of the 9th end, to the last rock of the extra end, with Tabitha drawing almost to the button.

I thought doubles luge was the oddest thing in the olympics, odder than singles synchro swimming.. but then I saw this..
single luge, double luge, single luge, double luge, hit the flappy thing each time or you loose. It's simple. but yes.. strange.

Probably my favorite moment of those games. the 3 last ones of biathlon's mass start decided to stop and sprint for the 3 last places, all in good fun.

Thanks to living close to the Canadian border, I can get CBUT on my television, and, I've said it before, they're coverage of the Olympics is so much better than NBC/Peacock.
