According to the Middleblog:

"my friends, i couldn't be more delighted to be finally letting the cat
out of the bag...the middleman dvd is now officially in production for a
summer 2009 release!

produced by the good folk of shout! factory (the incredible episode-box
artisans who created amazing sets for "freaks and geeks," "my so-called
life" and MST3K) - the DVDs will be out in time for the san diego
comic-con and will be chock-full of the kind of extra goodness you have
come to expect from the middleteam...

...stay tuned to the middleblog for more as it develops!"

Glad to hear about the Middlevids, but I'd rather hear that the show's getting a second season. Hopefully the DVDs will become a cult phenomenon.

What would be the likelihood of the DVD sales influencing them to go ahead with a second season of the show itself?

Sweet! I will watch these atop my Dread Pyramid of Itzilichlitlichlitzl!

It's too bad these won't be coming out this spring. Our costuming plans for an upcoming convention over Memorial Day include a Sensei Ping costume for my son. He's really looking forward to that one. We also have a good friend who plans to go as Ida.

It wouldn't be out of the question. From what I've heard, ABC Family really likes the show and would love to continue it, but can't unless it can persuade advertisers to help pay for it. And if the ratings aren't good enough to convince the advertisers, maybe strong DVD sales would do it. Alternatively, maybe we could get new direct-to-DVD episodes. And wouldn't it be cool if it went the Firefly/Serenity route and we got a Middlemovie?

The Browncoats and the Scapers have proven what can be accomplished by a coordinated, passionate group of fans who act creatively and intelligently.

I'll pick it up, I thought it was one of the better shows on last season. Good mix of action and comedy!

Im literally !!!! in excitement. :D

Buuuuut, something tells me this isnt destined for UK shores, is it?

Wendy Watson, this isn't just any DVD - it's the DVD that could save our milk-drinking hides! Fire up the Middlejet! We've got to get to the retail outlet ASAP!

I really liked the concept, but this show fell off my radar during the strike.

How many episodes did they produce in the first season?

I'd be interested in the DVDs.

I doubt it will get picked up for a second season, the ratings were horrible, and I think even worse than what Kyle XY's ratings are, and that was canceled.

I'm still hoping they'll figure out a way to wrap Kyle XY's storyline.

I don't care about the Latnoc plot line either, I just want to see what happens between Josh & Andie. Ah Hell, Deckland & Lori for that matter.

I need character resolution, at least of existing threads.

I'll definitely be picking this one up. What a fun show.

Hell, even if the show sucked it would be worth the purchase just to ogle Natalie Morales.
