Michelle Forbes as Cpt. Ro Laren.

I'd figure after the Dominion War erupted, any Maquis who survived probably immediately tried to join (and was allowed to join) Starfleet. In retrospect, after all, it turns out they were right to oppose Cardassia at every turn (on the other hand, it's kind of partially their fault they joined the Dominion in the first place).

I did love her turn as Cain, so I wouldn't mind seeing her in a command position somewhere.

A little nitpick, but Cpt. is the abbreviation for the O-3 "Army" rank. CAPT is the O-6 naval rank.

Make a new series, set 1-3 years after the end of the dominian war. Something like cardassia, the klingon and romulan empire is now part of federation alliance (former ufop). Most of the alpha quadrant is at peace, so talks of exploration is back on the table.

Going to add more... ship, story and stuff like that, one thing is for sure! I want Michelle Forbes back as Ro Laren, and in command of the new ship.

So what do you think?

Maybe some exploration in the Andromeda Galaxy...

That would be great! I would love to see such a series.

This is Snarky.

For now I'd settle for seeing Maquis spelled correctly. And, yes it's snarky, but given how integral Ro's betraying Picard (and Starfleet) to join the Maquis was, if that part of her background can't even be spelled correctly, I have to question one's knowledge of the character in general.

Bad assumption. I did a lot of psych research in my early teens. All personal study from library books. I knew a lot about psychology in general and Jung in specific. It was many years before I knew it was pronounced "Yung".

You don't have to know everything to be well versed in something. Also, bad spelling or lazy typing doesn't always reflect knowledge of the subject.

^No, but IMO if you're going to claim to be passionate about a subject you should also not be invoking "lazy" anything with regards to it. It suggests that you care about the subject...but not enough to discuss it in a manner that doesn't jeopardize your own credibility.

Can't imagine Ro coming back to Starfleet regardless of what some novels might indicate. Her being with the Maquis is just plain right (then again, the Maquis are the only group in century 24 I am very impressed with, so I'd be disappointed to see her wearing a 'fleet uniform anyway.)

I loved the character of Ro Laren and I think they should have given her more episodes.
I can see her as a starship captain - maybe as she was Picard's protoge he could have her pardoned and have her reinstated into Starfleet.

Noooooonononononoooo. No Ro Laren, please. I really couldn't stand her self-righteous, smug attitude. It was a happy day for me when she left the ship. I don't know exactly what it was about her, but her character completely grated me. It was like they thought, oh, we need someone "edgy." Let's make a character that's a brooding malcontent. Surely that's edgy!

Given her feelings about Starfleet in general, I don't see her towing the company line to be a captain (not for Starfleet, anyway). Secret agent, maybe. Something less formalized, more independent.

No, no, no. I think the 24th Century has been done to death now.
No, Trek spinoffs have been done to death now. No more. I don't get why fans think anybody would be interested in yet another series with yet another captain and yet another all new crew on an all-new ship. No one cares about Captain Ro Laren aboard the Starship Victory, or Captain Nathanial Jones of the Federation starship Columbia, or Vulcan Captain T'Lar of the experimental timeship T'talla.

Star Trek is Kirk and Spock. No. More. Spinoffs.

Hmmm...I could see a (fan fiction) appearance of a possible Captain Ro Laren, but only as a cameo. A shatnerverse story involving Kirk's X.O. Thomas Riker and (one of many possible futures,) in 'Temporal Causality Thread 447'. Which may explain why the Cardassians thought Riker may have been from another dimension when they attempted to dissect his origins during Thomas' time on Lazon II. They're being discreetly observed by the Timeship Relativity from "up-stream", the Captain of whom doesn't want to intervene if she doesn't have-to, but realizes Riker has to choose where he belongs, either choice could cost future-history and dimensional integrity dearly.

While I'd love a Ro series it wouldn't happen. Since Ro defected to the Maquis during a pretty important mission I don't honestly think that Starfleet would trust her enough with a ship to put her in command (unless it was a small scout or something along those lines). Chakotay and his maquis were a special case because they proved themselves, but the other Maquis probably weren't treated as fortunately. We do know Eddington was still in a Federation prison during the War.

Eh...I think the 24th century is pretty much tapped out. I'd love to see a series set sometime between the Romulan War and the Kelvin era.
