Michael Clarke Duncan has died

I really enjoyed his work, including his voice work in animated productions, and was looking forward to more of it.

Rest in peace, sir.

Oh, Jesus. I didn't even know he was ill. :(

That's awful to see someone who always came off so kind and full of life in interviews pass away like this, and at such a young age. It really hits home for me too since like him I'm a really tall, burly guy with heart problems running in the family (my Mom died of a heart attack two years ago at 57).

He was always a pleasure to watch onscreen and brought many hours of enjoyment whether through humor or drama. Rest in peace.

Oh damn :(

I'm a huge fan of Armageddon and was amazed at his performance in Green Mile.. sad news indeed.

WOW. This is a shock. I never would've guessed that he was ill. He always looked so big and strong. How sad! :(

I didn't know he was ill either. The Green Mile is one of my all-time favourite films, and he was a huge reason for that. So talented.

:(

Rest in peace....

Armageddon sucked a big one, just another boilerplate disaster movie from the 90s. I loved The Green Mile, that one gets me dewey eyed.

I think that was the giveaway. He was a very big man so heart problems would always be following him.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking when I read about it.

It is sad that he died at the age of 54 from heart problems. i remember reading what one retired sumo wrestler once said. "you don't see that many 70 year old large bodied people". God bless him.

His career was far too short. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

He would have been my choice for the voice of Smaug in the Hobbit movie.

What a presence that guy was... Not just physically, but emotionally. His voice was bigger than his size. He could be a real bada$$ or the dire hero. While his acting style pretty much ensured "character actor" (I couldn't see him as a lead), he'd be the kind that would last and last... kind of like Scatman Crothers. I really wish he hadn't been taken so early. RIP Michael.
