A pity -- I quite liked the first season, which was a really smart, funny, character-driven show, better than most live-action sitcoms. Unfortunately, in later seasons the show got dumbed down and kiddified; the main characters lost their complexity and were marginalized in favor of the comic-relief alien characters. (I particularly hated the way the Worms came to dominate the series. In the movie, they had all sorts of vices -- smoking, gambling, etc. -- but in the cartoon, they came to be defined exclusively by obsession with coffee, which was mildly amusing once but tedious as hell as a weekly running gag, especially when these one-joke characters took over the whole damn show.)
